That large number of people are never confirmed to have died from the flu.

The CDC reports (here) there were 4,513 deaths in the U.S. between January 21, 2020 and April 2,2020. There are 72 days between those two dates, for an average of 62 deaths per day.
COVID-19 deaths are still on the increase, so we won't know the final average until this is over.
Yet with 400,000 flu hospitalizations this season, we haven't heard of endemic shortages of ventilators, and with 24,000 deaths we haven't heard of the need for more refrigerated trailers to house the recently deceased.
My question is why not?
