If you enjoy the original Narcos catch Narcos Mexico.
Thanks - it’s on the list as a follow up - wanted to change “venues’ before getting into it....we tend to binge watch with 2-4 episodes at a time...
Ozark is filmed primarily here in Georgia. Lickity Splitz is about 15 miles from my house, although they do not seem to use it anymore and it returned to an abandoned restaurant.
Most of the lake scenes are of Lake Allatoona and some general shots are in Conyers and a couple of other places.
Do not play a drinking game with the show. No Tequila shots for each time they pick up their cell phone or say a curse word followed by a character name.
It is not all gay and most of the gay characters are killed off, even at then end of the last episode. :)
The gay stuff from the first two seasons, I fast forwarded past that. This 3rd season is better than the first two and is gay free. The script writers have given Ruth some great lines. Her character has been amplified.
True, but the lesbitrian gets it at the end of 3.
They showed a softer side of Ruth in season 3. She is one day younger than my oldest son.

The Detectorists on Amazon Prime is Brit series worth watching. After the first couple of episodes, I was hooked.
I will take a look at The Detectorists first episode. Bill Wyman was big on this and was even selling his own brand of metal detectors. Don’t reveal more about the show. I know Great Britain is littered with auld metal artifacts and auld precious metal coins.
Detectorists —What is the best season to take a look at a few episodes?

I am looking at one episode right now. Season 2 number 4. Very cute and veddy English.
The Death of Stalin is now on Netflix. In my humble opinion one of the best recent movies.
If you like it, go back to episode one of season 2. The first part takes place in the past, but it’s relevant for the rest of the series. Enjoy.
I see that Rupert Friend is in your Stalin movie that is billed as a comedy?
Homeland is generally idiotic and too Libby. But if you want to see its one great season, see season five. Rupert Friend is in it. It takes place in Germany so I liked the exotic locales. Exotic for me at least and chock full of the nastiest, murderous Euro-Trash.
OMG. we LOVED detectorists. Lordy...its a small group who does...but we loved it. Quirky and deep humor (not everyone gets it).
Yes...a few days ago I actually broke down and watched TIGER KING. Watched it to the bitter end. Meh. Predictable. Looking for other stuff to watch.
“...your Stalin movie that is billed as a comedy?”
I stopped watching Homeland somewhere during season 4. Something about the script had pissed me off and the final straw was when Senator Lockhart was acting like an idiot during the lockdown in the embassy. Good to know there is one decent season to watch, I might give it a try.
Halfway through Season 3 now. Wife and I just started binging on it a couple weeks ago. This show is so damn good! (Not quite “Breaking Bad” but that bar was set pretty high). Kudos to Jason Bateman and Laura Linney for some first-rate entertainment. And God, I love Ruth!
At first the gay segue made me cringe as well. Unusually though, the gay characters are pretty despicable. They're not heroes. They're both scumbags (although, there's some well-written backstory to both of them). If you can get past it (and I did) their storyline pays off.
On Amazon Prime, there is a fantastic Russian movie called "Dear, Comrades".
