“April 1, 1973: The Wreck of the SS Atlantic”
It did it again 100 years later? That is an astonishing tale of the sea!

Maybe another blockbuster movie can be made from this sinking of a White Star Line ship.

Oh my God! Just last week I won an auction for an antique nautical compass, a portable case with the compass for the ships binnacle, which would be on the bridge. I received it on Monday. Its in pretty good shape. The Brass Nameplate on its wooden case shows it was made for the "S.S. Atlantic"!
Binnacle from the S.S. ATLANTIC
What are the odds?!
However, this S.S. Atlantic for which this compass was made could not be the one that sank in 1873, as this compass was for another "S.S Atlantic" that was built in 1905, likely a descendent ship of the one which foundered in 1873.
