But scientists say it’s unclear whether felines can spread the virus to people so pet-owners need not panic yet.

Cats can be infected with the coronavirus that causes COVID-19 and spread it to other cats, but dogs are not really susceptible to the infection, according to researchers in China. The team, at Harbin Veterinary Research Institute in China, also concludes that chickens, pigs, and ducks are not likely to catch the virus.

Not sure but to date, there’s been 2 cats identified as positive. And one dog. Dog was in Hong Kong.

And there was a London cat that died but wasn’t tested, after it’s owner got CV.

I guess this confirms why the ChiComs made people in Wuhan get rid of their pets, at the beginning of the outbreak.

Vids showed people throwing their pets out of hi-rise windows, and also stacks of pets (in trash bags) being collected, at curbsides.

:..(

I cannot even imagine.

I doubt that a dog could give you the virus, unless you are one of those people who let their dog lick them in the face........................

That needs to be studied. Seems to me that if they are shedding virus, unless the virus is somehow modified when it infects a dog or cat, I would think it would spread to a human.

It might be a little more difficult, simply because the animal is lower. If they spread particles, do most of those particles fall rather than get lifted up to where the human would breathe them in.
