Even temps don’t necessarily determine the shedding of virus. This is just a risk we don’t need to be taking right now. At all.

“Hospitals are one - entrance. Staffed”

My mom has been a patient at Strong in Rochester. There are several entrances. If you take a taxi there, it’s good to tell the driver which door to go to.

They can pass out cigars and stay at home like in the old days. For just a little while.

Ah yes....I do remember dropping in (We were NOT allowed anywhere near the delivery room) prior, leave a number of the nearest watering hole with the powers that be (before cell phones took over society), the bartender would let you know, few more beers and off to the hospital arriving about 15 minutes BEFORE visiting hours over (YES, there was a time when ‘they’ controlled visiting hours in hospitals).

I mean, there’ve gotta be bigger sacrifices than that, right?

There is something to be said to the private birth model of childbirth.

Men outside waiting and women giving birth.

I think it is more humane for both husband and wife.

Woman needs other women during that time.

Men need alcohol.

I had a laborer tell me (years ago) that he needed the day off as his wife was having a baby.

I told him that unless he was the Doctor delivering it he was better off with me and have the Hospital call the office and they would contact me and then he could go.
(Perfectly acceptable for the times)
Also pointed out that he had better look for ways to be getting some overtime, not getting off, losing money.

I probably figured he would have just gone to a beer joint and waited <: <: <:.

Unlike today when Ballplayers are given a few days off for birth...

Sandy Koufax was considered (at the very least) a ‘traitor’ for not pitching on ‘Yom Kippur’ during the World Series.
