The tents in Central Park are sent by Franklin Graham’s Samaritan Purse organization; they will hold 68 patients (overflow of regular patients to that hospitals will have more room for the virus patients).
Central Park is NOT being filled with tents for thousands of victims...

Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez, a grand marshal of this years parade, said the city and country confronted the SARS outbreak nearly two decades ago, and now they will successfully confront coronavirus.
Im here to say that Chinatown is open for business and we are behind you and we will remain strong, Velazquez said. Last night, I was here dining in a restaurant in Chinatown. I welcome everyone to come here and celebrate the culture and beauty of this community.
Note; Singapore has about 400 confirmed cases. Hong Kong has around 700 cases. Both cities are densely-packed, have lot of visitors from mainland China, and neither city is on lockdown (at least, Singapore isn’t).
New York City has 38,000 cases, and is on lockdown.
New York must be doing something wrong (and more lockdowns don’t seem to be the answer).
An average of 12,000+ people die in New York City in an average month, from all causes. An additional five hundred
deaths — most of which likely might have died anyway —
is not the apocalypse.

Today our city is celebrating the #LunarNewYear parade in Chinatown, a beautiful cultural tradition with a rich history in our city. I want to remind everyone to enjoy the parade and not change any plans due to misinformation spreading about #coronavirus.

They were crowded in like sardines to see the Hospital ship. Don’t think that was a smart move NYers.

Since Im encouraging New Yorkers to go on with your lives + get out on the town despite Coronavirus, I thought I would offer some suggestions. Heres the first: thru Thurs 3/5 go see The Traitor @FilmLinc. If The Wire was a true story + set in Italy, it would be this film.

Blame Trump.
OK, now to read the article...
Fully three weeks after the nully hacienda hunkered down.
If I remember correctly there was an “anti-Trump” flavor to New York City’s initial reaction. A real “we won’t let the bad orange man halt our great city” spirit.
