Fully 10% of IP orders have some degree of embedded error. Multiple layers of protection prevent them from harming patients but still some get through.
I think he/she is guilty of very simplistic ‘thinking’.
Medical errors are tragic, but they do not represent the immediate danger that a highly infectious, fast-spreading disease represents - one which can affect hundreds of thousands all on its own in a very short time - AND can quickly overwhelm our healthcare system.
(With all respect to those with legitimate and very thoughtful concerns: Freepers are always talking about LIFE and how much they value it. But a lot of them have seemed lately to care most about Money.)
What do you call a doctor who graduated last in his class? Old joke, but it applies here I think. Similarly, what do you call a doctor who’s put in 70 hours a week on average for a couple of months in a row? A lot of them around, too.
