If every family has to split up by age and find new living quarters, there aren’t enough living places.

Every family does not have a high risk elderly person living in it. Give me the household demographics on that. So give me a break. So we are to destroy the economy because we can't mange to isolate grandma? Really? Quit projecting your personal household demographic situation ONTO EVERYONE ELSE. I believe we can save grandma without destroying EVERYTHING

.....but they are still carriers. If you can’t separate the age groups, then you put all age groups at risk.

Here in MD we’re watching the confirmed case counts of the decade cohorts increasing rapidly. Note the 20-60 range. As confirmed cases they have been/are spreaders. The under 20s are also increasing. Consider that even they have pre-existing conditions, asthma, allergies, obesity, etc. that put them at risk as well. Not to mention the behavioural drugs. Though with the bulk being under parental control of some kind, they are easier to keep quarantied.

I have a sneaking suspicion the people who think the young should go and get infected are in the 60+ category.

So are Freepers so stupid as to suggest that testing positive fpor COVID means you are sick from it? 86% NEVER EVEN KNOW THEY WERE INFECTED.

I think the solution is simple.

We wait until mask production ramps and EVERYONE wears a mask and goggles. That stops the spread.

Sure it will look weird, and be a little unconfortable, but it’s temporary, and it gets us back to work sooner, than later.

Then your 40 year old and his grandma can all go to work or the grocery store.

China needs to be held accountable in the harshest possible way.

But we can’t do a thing to them, because we are totally dependent on their supply lines.

This is a very bad situation.

Let the high risk family members self isolate.

You may want to consider this:
The level of risk is an insignificant element when determining a solution to the spread of this disease.
I.e., we can all act as carriers even if our level of risk of becoming ill is zero.

You are NOT going to put 20% of anybody in the hospital. Think.

The 18 to 24 group on spring break did a lot to spread the WuhanFlu.

Take it up with CDC.....From CDC..... https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/downloads/Factsheet-for-Healthcare-Providers-2019-nCoV.pdf

What does it mean if the specimen tests positive for the virus that causes COVID-19?

A positive test result for COVID-19 indicates that RNA from SARS-CoV-2 was detected, and the patient is presumptively infected with the virus and presumed to be contagious.

Laboratory test results should always be considered in the context of clinical observations and epidemiological data in making a final diagnosis and patient management decisions....."

r destroying their health forever by getting infected with an unknown long term effect Chinese made bioweapon.

There is no indication that the very few young that actually get sick and recover are adversely affected. This is not HIV. It's the sniffles people.

You insult me. I get that you idiot. If that infected asymptomatic carrier practices separation with the elderly but not with their fellow youth then there is no problem. The one size fits all solution is an isult to my intelligence. It should be to you too.

If a family has a high risk member the onus should be on them to find an isolation solution for them and not on society as a whole to figure it out.

What I can’t figure out is why outside activities are forbidden, this is BS. Here in FL, beaches are closed, for one example. We trust people to get in 3 ton vehicles and drive toward each other at 55 mph separated by a couple feet. Can we not trust individuals or family members to not cough on strangers or drool on their towel? Is taking a walk, run, or bike ride really advised against? Transmission outdoors is as remote as a meteor strike. Maybe we should all get off our fat asses and use this as an opportunity to exercise. I’m also mystified about the worship aspect. Churches acquiesced so easily to the ban...what about open air services? This is dumbing down to the lowest common denominator. Christians are being slaughtered worldwide
and we won’t even risk the temporary inconvenience of a special arrangement that protects against transmission. Will sunrise masses be cancelled also on Easter?

. If a family has a high risk member...

You still choose to not "get it". Everyone of us is a potential carrier; "risk" is not relevant.

And there is some authority for the argument that those who are documented as having had it and declared recovered are no exception.

Have a nice evening.
