Agreed. Now, I could go out on a limb here and say my mother’s is the best potato salad in the land, but you could also say I might be a little biased. *chuckle* And yes, I’ve had middling German style before; there’s a trick to making it I haven’t tried yet. The vinegar and bacon have to be balanced just right, the dressing is thinner than the others, and it has to be served at the right teperature. There’s a place in Alpine Helen, GA called International Haus that knocks it out of the park every time. A good store brand in a can is Read German potato salad. Surprisingly good for canned. (If they ever lift this Andromeda Strain lockdown on the planet, I want us to rent a log cabin in the woods outside of town for three days and stagger zombie-like around the Helen area again. Beautiful environs, great food, pretty mountains, and I have a contact for cabins that all have indoor hot tubs and are right on a trout stream. You can literally fish from your deck. And there are two vineyards/wineries there which make some really delicious wine, and offer tours.)
Oh, such nice dreams! :-)
Sounds good to me.
