Somewhat subsequent to the 34 minute mark, Kawae shows and discusses "the notch" which was previously visited and photographed by Bob Brier.
Current studies of pyramids in the Memphis area of ancient Egypt are being conducted from multiple perspectives, and archaeological data about them is now available from both texts and excavations. The survey data of the pyramids, however, has rarely been updated. Yukinori Kawae provided historical insights on the development of pyramid construction methods and discussed how a Japanese consortium is using 3D documentation to update survey data in collaboration with the Japanese production company, TV MAN UNION, using drones and Global Navigation Satellite System equipment.
