A little-remembered film of great warmth and humor; pro-life, and pro-religion. The 'grandpa' character is a treasure.

Writer Nick and his wife Emily are expecting their first child. When a necessary home repair proves too costly to afford, Nick must swallow his pride and visit his father, a proud immigrant stonemason with whom he has a difficult relationship, and ask him to do the work. Confronting the issues of religion and family tradition which have separated father and son causes Nick and Emily to reevaluate their lives and the things they value most.

I’m old enough I should remember this movie, but I don’t. Quite surprised, because I always liked Judy Holliday in anything she performed in.

if you haven’t seen judy holliday in born yesterday - it’s very funny- she did an awesome job as a ‘dumb blond’ in it- very very funny- Her timing was perfect- She btw was a real brain they say-

Haven’t looked at clip... I love Judy Holliday in movies... They are playing Gin Rummy... Their timing in that scene = perfection...

the whole movie is like that- perfect timing- perfect ‘ditzy gestures’ by her- she was brilliant- the two of them worked perfectly together- she was very funny in the movie- well worth watching if you can find it- We laughed quite hard many times in the movie-

Broderick Crawford is Great in “Larceny, Inc.” Another underappreciated film..
