I thought this article was going to discuss Jabbar having a hard time no longer playing pro sports. I could see that being a difficult struggle for many retired sports figures.
It’s an intense way of life with high stakes. You are being watched on TV as you play. It’s like giving up show business, except you age out of it. Once in a while, you find an ex pro athlete who uses that fame and goes on to become successful in a completely different field. George Forman is one of those.

I don't miss the NBA... since i haven't watched a game in twenty years. But the NCAA Tournament? And The Master's? Yes, I miss them.
Usually, we only see Abdul-Jabbar's name in the news when he's complaining about racism.
