A local business is paying it forward, by supporting local businesses affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
The CEO of MuniciPAY, a payment processor in Portland, is giving each of his employees $50 a week to buy food from local restaurants in the area.
He says the company is fortunate to be economically stable during this time, and hopes he's making a difference in the community.
"You know, the employees feel good, we're doing something good, and that's it, hopefully this will grow to be some big number,” MuniciPAY CEO Jamie Nonni said. “I know you can't save everybody, but that's something I'm willing to do to get back from our team, as we have benefitted from a strong economy in the past."
He says, in total, they'll be giving back around $2,500 to local businesses a month.

This is a good thing, and everyone must support their local community.
Portland, Maine is just as liberal as Portland, Oregon.
Maine has 150 positive cases of the Chinese virus....
Two-thirds are in the Portland, Maine area.
Is this the company that takes a rake off when you (are forced) to pay your government bills electronically?
Why, yes it is. What a coincidence.
They’d be doing their employees much better to let them spend that $50 at the grocery store and feed their families with healthier scratch homemade meals. That’s plural homemade meals rather than wasting the entire $50 and then some from their own pocket for restaurant meals.

Example is this no brainer recipe from buns to table to make 4-5 Schlotzsky’s sandwiches for the price of one at the drive thru.
$5/day per person food budget can still yield healthy filling meals and that’s without using cheap high carb pasta, rice, potatoes or beans.
