The US now has more confirmed cases of coronavirus than any other country with at least 82,404 positive tests.
According to the latest figures collated by Johns Hopkins University, the US overtook China (81,782 cases) and Italy (80,589).
The grim milestone came as President Donald Trump predicted the nation would get back to work "pretty quickly", after 3.3 million layoffs.
More than 1,100 people with Covid-19 have died in the US.

If the media was honest about the average age/condition/habits of the people dying, people under 50 would go Humph and demand to start gathering again.

Not even the Chinese people believe China’s official numbers. It is several times more than what they’re reporting.
The death rate means nothing when you keep adding new case numbers into the mix.
There should be a cut off date to know if for sure. Like February cases/ death rate/ March cases/ death rate. Published 60 days down the road.
How many people who contracted this in February died vs cured? and so on to get a true figure.
Good point. Most of the symptomatic people being tested for wuhan flu must just have regular flu, because they are
1) being tested and...
2) Test negative for Chinese coronavirus
Unless they are known contacts of know Positives, the Mild/asymptomatic cases of Wuhan Flu are not even being tested yet, in most places.

Technically false. Having more reported cases simply does not mean we necessarily have more cases, and the more testing that is done then the most cases are reported. But simply because you test more people for something does not necessarily mean there are more. And with more than 579,589 being reported (and which data seems hard to find) the US has done more coronavirus tests than South Korea , but not per person - and even New York is testing more per capita than South Korea. Thus it is no wonder we see a vast increase in reported cases.

Some people have more trouble than others accepting a new reality.
My wife said to me a moment ago that the Chinese tests for the virus are only around 35% accurate showing lots of false positives, and negatives. She said she heard the report on OANN this morning. Apparently these “tests” are being shipped from China to various European, and M.E. nations, and those nations are the source of the report.
Hopefully more FReepers heard that.

My Grandmother died of Flu. She was 93 and smoked for 75 years.
I recommend anyone over 65 or with health issues, Isolate and self quarantine indefinitely.

And true to form, the MSM hypes "US overtakes China with most cases" but it reluctant to teel you how many tests have currently (not last week) been done (try to find that in the major trackers), and so when Trump states that the "US has done more coronavirus tests than South Korea" what do they do? CNN majors on how that does not mean per capita, ignoring that the more reported cases is related to the greater number of tests. For it is most important to hype the hysteria virus and covid captivity.
Of course China is lying about the number of cases. They simply stopped testing, thus locking their “number of cases” in place. Meanwhile, we’re just ramping up testing, so our numbers creep upward. Everything claimed by the ChiComs must be assumed to be a lie.
