We should change our name to NotQuiteFlubros until/unless this virus magically finds a way to reach the 30k-60k deaths that influenza achieves EVERY DAMN YEAR in the US.

Yup. I think they thought he wouldn’t be able to handle it

It will back fire. He has been magnificent. I think this will guarantee his re-election and will wake America up to the dangers of globalism

With all due respect, are you and Greta McGee actually pissed that this thing, while serious, didnt turn into what both of you were virtually hoping it would?

It’s almost like the efforts of medical science, and human effort, deprived you both of your “good time”.

Both of you should be happy to see society combat this and get the upper hand, but you both sound like bitter ghouls.

It’s fricking weird.

“I think they thought he wouldn’t be able to handle it. It will back fire. He has been magnificent.”

They don’t get Trump at all. Don’t they know that he loves a challenge — that he’s a problem solver by nature? This is the biggest challenge in his life, and he’s kicking ass — and probably would be liking it if there wasn’t a life-and-death component.

Inaccurate models causing the gov’s panic?
Are models purposely inaccurate for leftist political purposes?

Look, you gotta look at rationale. For the vast majority of people who get infected by this, like 70%, there are no or mild symptoms. The small percentage who have underlying conditions and are at high risk can get it really badly and a smaller percentage die. So Big Picture for working-age adults is it’s minimal impacting. For select populations, mostly those in poor health and the aged, it can be devastating, with long term health impacts or death. So why the shutdowns? To protect the at-risk population and slow the spread so hospitals can treat those at-risk during a slow-spreading pandemic. Concerning but definitely overblown by the media.

We have acquaintances that work for a famous PC gaming company here in the Raleigh area. There were frequent trips to Asia and China. They - and many others in their company got this bug in early December. Same type of symptoms - headache-cough-pneumonia. Thankfully they are all well - but they’re convinced this thing has been here for some time.

So many people are sheep. As soon as their emotions kick in they lose all perspective and become driven by their “belief”. WuhanDeathBros are all around. They don’t like reality.

I’m frightened and I feel better when I’m bathed in bulls&it.

I've probably had the opposite take on almost everything you've posted here in recent days, but you just cracked me up with this one. LMAO.

LMAO. There's another one.

I get more entertainment from 2-3 threads on FR in a typical day than a week's worth of Comedy Central content.

I hope we can all be good-natured enough to keep things going here at FR, because I gotta be honest with you -- a lot of people here have really surprised me with their response to this idiocy.

One guy in my state posted an announcement the other day that his gun club had closed under the orders of the governor. This is a GUN CLUB ... closing under the orders of THE GOVERNMENT.

I told him they should close it permanently. A gun club that closes under government orders isn't a real gun club; it's a Girl Scout troop with a membership comprised entirely of middle-aged transgenders.

Absolutely right. And extending huge unemployment benefits in the $2T, so workers will not seek jobs when all the ridiculous lockdowns lift, to keep unemployment numbers high

They are playing power politics

People have been gaslighted into believing the hospitals are overrun with the dead and dying from CORONA-19. The US Navy hospital ships Mercy and Comfort each have 1,000 beds and only 80 beds for intensive care and have been sent to help with the “overloaded hospital system”, as reported by the government and the media.

However, that’s a complete lie.

Colorado State has 1,849 intensive care beds, 11 times that of both ships combined. Colorado has also has 12,558 hospital beds total, or 6 times the beds of both ships.

New York State has 3,000 intensive care beds, 18 times that of both ships combined. New York State also has 73,931 hospital beds in total, or 36 times both ships combined.

In the US, there are 6,146 hospitals with 924,107 hospital beds with 97,776 intensive care beds. The gaslighting of Americans is that two ships of 2,000 beds total and only 160 intensive care beds is absolutely necessary to a hospital system with 462 times the number of beds and 611 times the number of intensive care beds because somehow the virus is overloading the hospital system.

Colorado has had 100 intensive care patients with the virus. That’s it. 100. That number will change, but it isn’t anywhere near the gaslighted emergency the government and media has tried to convince people is happening.

Glad you enjoyed my sense of humor, and thanks for being civil. I’m generally a pleasant guy with a good sense of humor (I need to use the /s tag more) except when a board crank chooses to give me a sharp elbow. Then my NYC comes out :)
