Thread #26 here:

The no leave the county would stop the vast majority of commuter virus spread out into the rural counties.
Early on, wasn’t echinacea listed as a do not take in CV times?
FNC - soccer games may be related to British CV spread.
“And it is virtually harmless to the those under 65. The actual flu is more dangerous the COVID-19.”
That’s false. Plenty of younger folks are getting serious cases. The initial data was skewed by the demographics of the early cases and the earliest deaths. And way more people die from this than the flu, per case, of all ages. There are probably fewer than a million cases of CCP-19 currently in the US, yet today about as many people died from CCP-19 as do on an average day from the flu. But you’ve seen all the evidence before and chosen to ignore it, so maybe you should go volunteer at one of the local hospitals. The one in my town has been converted to a CCP-19 treatment center. Maybe they need a valet? You can tell everybody all about how this is just the flu.
You’re just another broken, weapons-grade normalcy bias, FluBro.
I think we’re essentially on the same page, with enough difference to make the discussion interesting.
I truly am impressed with how the medical staff and hospitals have prepared up here.... Likely staff are equally prepared to go where the need is to relieve one another should Dr’s and nurses come down with this.....
I just know what I saw a week ago while there they’re as prepared to fight this beast as well as any could be and taking this seriously.....the rest is left to God to manage as He certainly knows who will get this virus and who won’t as well as the ultimate outcome.... Praying hardest for all the medical staff and frontline workers keeping everything moving on behalf of us all.
You be safe as well........I’m hungered down up here.
BTW....my son went of for his perscription down in Pittsburgh two days ago. Said it was like a ghost town driving there and back...he lives in the suburbs. That was about 2:00 in the afternoon.
I think for those with strong immune systems. It can add to the speed if a cytokine storm comes your way.
The virus has finally come to the boonies of North Central PA. We have one case here in Lyco Cty, said to be a woman who works at Brodart, and is quarantined at home.
Northumberland has one case, a worker at Weis Market. Recovering at home.
Lewisburg, a prisoner transferred to the Fed Pen at Allenwood.
Cuomo has sent a bunch of his prisoners up here to get rid of them.
They are the lucky one...they will get better care up here if they get Covid.
Guards and auxiliary personnel are up in arms! They have enough to worry about without taking in overflow from Cuomo, and from as far away as Oklahoma. There are 2 big Fed prisons in Union Cty.
They are at Lewisburg and Allendale.
I expect a surge of cases down there.
People are begging their congressman to do something to stop this dangerous influx.
You know someone is still going to slow down for the tunnels.
I wonder how good the media is in those N95 masks Harbor Freight donated to health care providers? It is not the easiest stuff in the world to make correctly, consistently. There was an article a few weeks ago about most of the Chinese made masks NOT meeting specifications. (I can go back and try to find it if anyone wishes...)
I'm not damning all Harbor Freight tools. Sometimes they have their uses. I've bought some myself. But if my life or others' lives potentially depended on one, and it's a tricky item to make...
LOL...too funny!
I recall coming thru the tunnel at night when my son first moved there. Two moving trucks and a van after a very long 6 hr. drive...... The sight of the city as you came out of the tunnel was spectaculiar...I wasn’t ready for that at all. Especially after holding my breath as we drove thru the tunnel!
One thing that’s strange about Western Pa people.....they always stay in the right lane bumper to bumper rather than use both lanes .....and it’s the same thing with people lines....you can have two or three open tellers or clerks and they will still wait in one single line rather than spread out and use all of them.
Remember the 500,000 test kits Chinese Billionaire Jack Ma donated to the USA? I hope we tossed those in the trash, or said "no thanks". Spain was reported to have the same "80% faulty" test kits. I wonder how many Spanish will die due to these kits. China must pay for this, and the price must be high.
“...my son went of for his perscription down in Pittsburgh two days ago. Said it was like a ghost town driving there and back...he lives in the suburbs. That was about 2:00 in the afternoon.”
I work in downtown Minneapolis and while it’s not ghost town, traffic is sparse and there are not nearly as many people on the sidewalks. The best way to describe it is like being down there on a Sunday morning or afternoon.
Most of the skyways are quiet and the restaurants that fed the downtown employees are mostly closed - except for takeout.
“China must pay for this, and the price must be high.”
They want pay, the Americans want their cheap products.
It reminds me of the time all stores in town use to close up Wed. afternoons when I was a little kid. It always felt like Sunday when everything was closed for the whole day..
I step out on my second floor deck from time to time and it sure doesn't have the same rhythm. Day or night.
.....”China must pay for this, and the price must be high”....
That’ll be like expecting Cuomo to pay his share as other states do. They’ll be blaming the US Gov. like he is for botching things in his own state.
“I truly am impressed with how the medical staff and hospitals have prepared up here.”
Where is that?
western Pa. North of Pittsburgh. Why do you ask?
So I know were I need to go if I need it. Just joking. I was wondering if there were any hospitals ready.
I think our local system in the upstate of SC is ready, they are worried. That is normal to be worry after seeing Italy on the news.
We are spread out here so there will not be a big surge like the cities I hope.. I think we have one to two weeks before a surge.
