Gulfstream Park plans to continue racing Wednesday and hold Saturday’s Florida Derby as scheduled, despite Broward County’s ban on nonessential business and the city of Hallandale Beach asking the horse racing track to shut down and postpone the Derby, Hallandale Beach Vice Mayor Sabrina Javellana told the Sun Sentinel on Tuesday.
Despite the novel coronavirus pandemic, Javellana said the track has threatened legal action against the city if it tried to prevent racing.

We aren't destroying freedom. What you are asking for is to throw away RESPONSIBILITY in the name of FREEDOM.
I AM FREE to do any damn thing I want. HOWEVER, I am responsible for the consequences of my actions. Therefore, I do my best to use some common sense during this 'crisis'. If limiting my activities will help reduce the spread of a disease, then I will do so.
Besides that, I am enjoying the reduced traffic, gasoline is $1.79/gal, and the time to catch up on my own projects. Rarely does the whole world slow down. Most of the time it rushes on by us. Maybe our focus should be on making the best use of the time given to us by this situation. Get to know your children better. Learn a new craft. Clean out that closet you never get to. Count your blessings and Thank God. That is all he ever asked for, is for us to thank him. And most skip that part and just complain about things that won't matter in a few months.
