Thanks for this transcript. I missed the Town Hall.
I will read it but it would be more fun if I could watch it online.
In any event, thanks.
The people in this country today who are so upset over their ‘losses’ and ‘sacrifices’ during this ‘crisis’ don’t realize what a wonderful nation we live in and the extent of abundance we truly have.
We complain because there aren’t 52 varieties of amply stocked hand sanitizers and toilet paper. We expect to be able to go to the store any buy food that is not in season and comes from the opposite side of our planet.... at a decent price.
People in many countries go to ‘stores’ that don’t have freezers or coolers. You buy what they have to sell and if it spoils, that’s on you.
My father had hand me down shoes. He had five brothers. These were people barely out of the depression and who then had to go overseas and defend their nation. Which they did without complaint.
Maybe sometimes we should count our blessings instead of worrying over spilt milk.
[bill == bill hemmer]
[concerning New York, Cuomo, and ventilators]
THE PRESIDENT: Well, I think theyre actually coming together. We had a bill that it was done the other night and then, all of a sudden, somebody else injected herself in and all of we didnt have a we didnt have anything that was even remotely signable.
But now I hear, just from a few minutes ago, that theyre doing well. And its for the workers, its for the people of the country. And I hear theyre doing pretty well, so well see how it comes out. But it should have been well, its like I watched Governor Cuomo, and he was very nice. Were building them hospitals. Were building them medical centers. And he was complaining about were doing probably more definitely more for than anybody else.
And he was talking about the ventilators, but he should have ordered the ventilators. And he had a choice; he had a chance. Because right here I just got this out that he refused to order 15,000 ventilators.
[...]
This says that New York Governor Cuomo rejected buying recommended 16,000 ventilators in 2015 for the pandemic for a pandemic; established death panels and a lotteries instead.
So he had a chance to buy, in 2015, 16,000 ventilators at a very low price and he turned it down. Im not blaming him or anything else, but he shouldnt be talking about us. Hes supposed to be buying his own ventilators. Were going to help.
But, you know, if you think about if you think about Governor Cuomo, were building him four hospitals. Were building him four medical centers. Were working very, very hard for the people of New York. Were working along with him, and then I watch him on the show, complaining. And he had 16,000 ventilators that he could have had at a great price and he didnt buy them.
