Why are bicyclists allowed to ride anywhere they want - out in the country, up in the mountains, etc, but I can't go for a ride in my car the same places?
What reason do city/state officials give for people not being able to get out & enjoy a nice drive?
Why not? I don’t think they have yet ordered the police or national guard to establish check points on the road to stop and arrest drivers who are “out for a drive.”

Exercise is allowed and being outdoors is good for you?
I have no idea what the difference would be.
If asked, tell them your car self identifies as a bicycle.
I think you can be stopped and told to return home. You’re only supposed to go out for necessary, essential reasons, and for exercise.
I did today. And I am under self quarantine. As long as I don’t get out, who cares?

I work in San Antonio. As an essential employee for a bank. I was given documentation to show if ever I needed to.
What a shame things have come to this. Having to show your papers to move about freely in the United States.

Just keep a bag of groceries in your car as an “excuse” for being out.
No they haven't. Folks seem to be over reacting.......We have a stay at home decree here in Michigan but it exempts people going outside for exercise. So, I'm meeting up with a few fellow senior softball players to take some batting practice and shag flys tomorrow morning.......
Heard the Oakland County Sheriff discussing what they would do and he said nothing unless someone called in a complaint for some blatant violation of the order. Then they would just investigate.......
My daughter works for a company that processes medical billing. She has the same letter. And they take her temperature every morning before she can enter the office complex.
I am going alone
I’ve hear nothing about any state police being ordered to randomly or with planning to stop drivers. Without the declaration of martial law, they don’t have the power or right.
