Raising prices in time of calamity is simply good for everyone. However, I think what they are going after is massive monopolistic quantities. Fauci mentioned someone called to offer them millions of masks at 7 times the normal price.
Doubling the price of an item at a store is only smart. It prevents hoarding and makes the products available to more people.

Ah...I had 12 rolls of toilet paper left today when at a store they were selling more so I bought a 12 pack - double roll! plus I have a shipment coming from Amazon ordered a few weeks ago of 10 more rolls.
I will trade. 1 roll for a new camera, 2 rolls for a new pc, 3 rolls maybe a car.
