Good morning. Back from walking in the heat and humidity. We found a plant stand on the curb labelled “free” and helped ourselves.

LOL! I love it when the Perfect Thing has a "FREE!" sign on it!!

I've been looking for sampler patterns to knit with this yarn I spent so much time winding. I don't have enough for anything in a solid color, so I thought, with three shades to work with, I might be able to knit an afghan.

I started to take one of the mittens apart to wind the yarn and I don't think I know the technique she used to end off. She must have learned from the Czechs. I've never seen work so beautifully finished.

Cool.

We’re cleaning in the Dragon Room. It would be easier without the dragon - all that sand! - but there he is. I’m finding lots of things to go to The Book Lady, but we probably won’t have time until late next week. Bags and boxes are going in the garage.

Sorry. I had to get the errands done before the stamina died.

The Dismally Inept Lawn Service, Etc., came before it was time to leave (the timing had to be just right) so I had to cover the windshield for an hour, then uncover and cover it again when I got back.

Now we have thunderings and lightnings all over the place. Just like that. Monsoons.

Afternoon. I had a nap. I dreamed Vlad and I were walking two dogs belonging to Anoreth, but we forgot what they looked like, and one turned out to be a cat.

Nice card!

Almost as good as the frog one I sent out today!

The new mouse came today and doesn’t work, but I saw the mailman drop it before it went into my mailbox, so there is that. I know: Prove it.

Anyway, it’s going back because its harder and harder to get the mouse I have to work. I may have to get one at Walmart. This one is going fast.

If it’s not one dang thing, it’s two dang things.

I’m going to spray my screen tent with Flying Insect Killer and then sit outdoors thinking about birds. Cats will probably turn up.

I once heard a comedian talking about trying to get rid of a chair. He put it out front with a sign starting, I think, at $50. He reduced the price a few times before changing it to “free to a good home.”

Still, the chair did not move.

He said he finally put up a sign that said “Antique chair, $250” and it was stolen within an hour.

Clever!

Quite a lot of “rehoming” of items goes on in my neighborhood. Usually things are put out on Sunday or Monday, because Tuesday is Trash Day.

And then there was the guy who ran an ad in a Philadelphia paper saying:

To the person(s) who stole the ‘69 Plymouth parked on Spring St on October 10, you have my deepest sympathy.

I woke up laughing.

I was dreaming of something like a British murder mystery, and someone had rented me an apartment without my knowledge because Love. I was presented a key and went through an ancient yellow door to find a pool of warmish water and for some reason, the whole thing was an enormous joke on whoever (whomever?) I had left to take up residence in this new place, and we were all laughing like crazy. those of us who were in on it, anyway. The butt of the joke, not so much, I think, but I woke up laughing.

It’s a good dream for the most part. The yellow indicates a few setbacks but they should be overcome easily. So I’m good with the dream and feel great for laughing in my sleep. I do it all too infrequently for my tastes!

Now I need to go sort pills. I had to take the morphine first, this morning. :o|

Little floof is gonna be in trouble in a minute!

Good morning.

The pills are sorted, and I need to go wash my face off in a minute and comb my hair so I can be presentable when I go to Walmart. I have to stop at the USPS mail drop on the way out of town to mail a copy of my SS card to the apartment complex. That is, after I take off the windshield cover. What a pain in the backside the *kof-kof* lawn service is.

Good morning. It looks like the hinder end of Jake in the photo, but it isn’t. I’m going out to get the newspaper.

The wrens are shrieking at Shannon. She baits them on purpose to hear them freak out.

...She baits them on purpose to hear them freak out.

I know some people that are like that...

The clothes are dry and have been taken down and put on the bed, waiting for me to fold them. The ones that go in the closet are already there because they were hung on hangers to dry. Easiest part of the whole process!

My face has been washed off and put back on and my hair combed, and within 40 minutes, I'll be out of here. But back as quick as I can. Kate is bringing me a small bookcase and some moving boxes. She'll be here just after 0700.

More bookcases?

I need to work on ours again. Frank claimed there wasn’t room upstairs for extra books downstairs, but I have a feeling he didn’t actually try.

The one Nephew took was rather large, and I’ve had to stuff the books into places where they couldn’t be seen. The two small ones I’ve gotten are being used for storage, but only one has books on it. The bird cages are on top of these. This one will go in the bedroom to replace the one that Nephew took.

I also use them for the little collectibles that mean nothing to anyone but me and the people who gave them to me. So yes, more bookcases.

And now, I’m outta here!

I used to work hard to try to figure out how to get rid of stuff when we lived in the Wildlands. Someone said, “Just put it next to your trash bin on Sunday (Monday was trash day). So we did that and, sure enough, people with large trailers or trucks would tour the neighborhoods looking for things they needed.
