*shrug* I’ve lost 20 lbs this year.

Mom’s mind is fading.

Cabin fever is setting in.

Escrows are supposed to close next week.

Does the camp extend to next week?

Just curious.

Ah. So two seaparte? Age groups or from different areas?

(I know I know...a fool can ask more questions than a wise man can answer...)

No, tonight (7:00 to 8:30) is my last session, unless it’s cancelled due to weather, and James and Vlad come home tomorrow noonish.

That reminds me, another thing that happens tomorrow noonish is the Spanish Mass. I need to see if we can activate another transportation asset (Tom) in a pinch.

He was over when I got home about 6:30 last night. DP had called him because a letter from the IRS came. Turned out it was a form letter “to notify you that your FAFSA included information from your tax return.” Duh, he knew that. Anyway, they all had dinner from Chick-fil-A, and they were playing a nerd card game when I came in, dripping wet because it was pouring.

We’re going camping at a state park next weekend. I’m not sure if any of the over-18 people will turn up, but Bill and Tom have expressed an interest.

I like the idea-my family has gotten the ancestry bug, particularly my older sister.

I can't trace my family back much further than the mid-19th century though, when my ancestors from Wurtemberg Germany settled in antebellum Flatbush.

I got bitten by the genealogy bug in 1980 and its worse today because of all the information online.

I have to get two sets for two different family members done, but one I can’t do until I can merge a couple of lines, and I don’t know how to do that, yet. So I’ll get the other one done.

Before I do that, I have to stock up on ink and paper!

Ah. OK. Since several of the “short people” have now become “over-18” people, there doesn’t seem to be much talk of the camps, just that they’re going on, so I lose track.

Nice thing about AR...it will be easier to visit! (Both ways!) I’ll be about as far from the airport in Little Rock as I was from McCarran, when I lived in Henderson.

We just got Chick-fil-A in Henderson, and I moved, without ever visiting! But I think there is one close in AR.

When you talk about camping trips, it makes me think of the days when we did that on a regular basis. I miss it, at times.

I guess I need to comment on today’s floof. She sure looks snug in that cat bed contraption!

Lives in Japan. I don’t know if that’s supposed to be a cat hutch, or if it originally had another purpose entirely.

You know how cats are ...

I’ve seen those, and they’re cat beds... Lucky cats! Probably one of those clever fabric designers in that country who can think like a cat!

I was just texting with Elen, USMC, before I went out to put gas in the Avalon. It’s Sunday evening in Okinawa. She says it’s boring: they’re not allowed to leave the base because of Covid.

I don’t envy her. All of a sudden, I have to wear a mask at Walmart again, and I hate those things.

I hope she’s otherwise OK. I found some new small doily patterns, if she’s interested. ;o]

She said she’s working on knitting, but she hasn’t accomplished much yet. I suggested potholders! She asked about cross-stitch, and I suggested getting a kit with a flower picture. “Flowers are fun, buildings are boring.”

Knitting is fairly easy and can be self-taught. Crochet is a little more difficult because of the number of different stitches and techniques, but knitting produces a smoother-looking fabric.

She could find a lot of embroidery projects at the BX there, or even (especially?) on the economy.

I used to love counted cross stitch until my cataracts got too bad to see. I dealt with it until I couldn’t see to drive at night and finally decided to have surgery. Now, of course, I need the right eye lased, but I wonder if I’ll even finish my little frog bookmark! If I do, I’ll make sure you get it, one way or another.

Does anybody know why medieval courts had jesters (or fools)?

A book recommendation on the subject would be appreciated.
