A kid who licked toilets as part of the #CoronaVirusChallenge says he's now in the hospital with coronavirus. @gayshawnmendes was also just suspended from twitter
I hope your day at camp is as comfortable as you can make it. I have a hard time with prolonged exposure to heat, especially if it’s accompanied by humidity.
Find shade! And be safe!
Good morning. Happy Monday.
Kitteh says: From here I can see lots of potential. Then I’ll look down and it will be Monday.
The other day I told Mrs. ArGee I thought I had a dead mouse. After I peeled her off the ceiling I explained I meant a computer mouse.
She uses the glide pad exclusively.
I still remember my first Summer Camp with the Boy Scouts at El Rancho Cima.
I volunteered to be a rescue dummy for lifesaving training.
Texas gets HOT in the summer.
I don’t care for the glide pad. I haven’t had the desire to learn to master it. With the mouse, it seems I have a little more control.
And I especially like the wireless mouse that was sent to me as a gift! ;o]
When I think of camp, I think of it in the mountains of Central Utah, where it’s seldom ever too hot or too damp. It’s chilly at night, and there are the thunderstorms, and the occasional bear and mountain lion, but camp was always fun.
I liked it when we would go for a picnic at the reservoir named after my family. It was a beautiful place, and my dad painted a picture of part of it. The southern end, maybe. Thing is, I don’t have the painting. He gave it to his sister so all I have is a photo of it.
Lunch break. Then we’ll have to afternoon sessions. James went off to find the staff lunch, and I’m eating some leftover vegetables from home.
Hot, but not looking like storms yet, which is nice for the campers.
I just had my lunch. Not leftovers, though it sounded good. I just didn’t think I should eat that many calories two days in a row. ;o]
Crikey. I need to get up from here and move around!
Funny, you posted that at the time I went into the bathroom to wash my face off and put a new one on! Morning floof knows exactly what to do!
Good morning.
The pills have been sorted and the sleep shirts have been removed from the bathroom and are ready to be folded. I would have done it but my back was hurting too much after standing to sort pills and wash my face.
The Walmart excursion is coming up, and I’m going to rip through it today, since I have no clue when the Kids will show up. With luck, I’ll be back by 0630. I hope!
The Dismally Inept Lawn Service and Sprinkler Decapitation Co. didn’t show up yesterday, but they will no doubt be here today. I covered the windshield, expecting them, but no-show. They were here on Friday, doing whatever it was they needed to do in order to fix the sprinkler system. Forty-four sprinkler heads on one valve. Go figger.
Good morning. Terrible dreams the last couple of nights. Monday morning, I was dreaming that the neighborhood was on fire, and we were packing up the cats to evacuate. Also, I had a baby, the 7th son. He had one yellow eye and one blue eye, like the flag of Ukraine, and his name was “Sign.” “GAH! I don’t like where this is going!” and I got up to have coffee.
I don’t have to be at camp until 6:00-ish this evening, so I’ll get Stuff done today.
Oh, golly, I hope those were “opposition” dreams and not omens.
I managed to sleep 10 hours last night, and I’m going to try and do the same trick tonight. I don’t recall my dreams, so they must not mean anything. I used to write down my dreams, even had a notebook and pen on the night table so I could jot down the dreams at the instant I opened my eyes.
I’ll be leaving for Walmart soon, and I really don’t want to go but I need instant yeast and kosher salt, and other things, as well, so I’m going. There are about four of us who line up every week, and no one has shared names.
Anyway, I have to go take the cover off the windshield, and hit the road, but I’ll be back in about an hour.
Good luck at Walmart. I’m glad you slept!
I have my WW meeting 9-ish, and then we’ll go to the library. I heard there was a lightning strike at camp last night, but it wasn’t near the campsites. James will tell me all about it when I get there tonight.
Since i don’t watch the news, I had no idea of the new rules, and didn’t have a mask with me when I went to Walmart. BIG sign: Masks must be worn... Ok, none in my backpack, where they usually are, none in the glove department in the truck, and none of the ladies had an extra.
I was told there were masks just inside and they could be purchased to be paid for at the check stand. Right. I found one in hot pink with a flag and “Freedom” on the front (oxymoron) and was charged $7.50 for the darn thing!
I ran through, got everything on my list, and had a few minutes to talk to my favorite cashier and went back to the truck with my haul. I opened the passenger door to put the groceries on the front seat and there, on the door plate was a mask. *face palm*
Sometimes life is just GAH.
And so it goes. It’s overcast and humid and I’m glad I don’t have to go anywhere. One thing for sure, though, as I was walking back to the truck from putting the cart in the cart rack, I really wished I had a walking stick. It would have eased the pain a bit to have something to lean on.
G/M. Happy Twosday.
I had to take the puppy to the vet this AM so she could get some shots. She’s healthy and growing fast. She’s already up to 20 lbs. Since we’re still waiting for her to learn to go down stairs, we care very much that we’re carrying a 20 lb dog to put her out.
Good morning to you! It’s good that Puppy is healthy and growing fast, and that she weighs 20 pounds! But I don’t envy you having to carry her downstairs. Maybe she could learn to back down them...? Just a thought! :o])
It’s been so long since I’ve had stairs for a dog to learn to go down, I forgot what it was like. Cats, now... Well, some just like to dispense with stairs.
This pup will jump as soon as she thinks she can, but that’s not supposed to be real good for such young bones.
Jumping too soon will put too much stress on the young bones, as they are still trying to gather all the minerals and things they need for strength. She’ll do it when she’s ready I suppose! ;o]
