A kid who licked toilets as part of the #CoronaVirusChallenge says he's now in the hospital with coronavirus. @gayshawnmendes was also just suspended from twitter
I could donate it to a pet shop or a vet’s office, I guess. That is, if I can’t find any other way to dispose of it. No matter what, it has to be cleaned, and that’s a job for later.
I’m already worn out because I did some rearranging while I was messing with the birds and moving the bookcase. Three trips out to the dumpster. I’m either very clean or very dirty... ;o]
Or a little of both.
Nah. I’ve never been gray or lukewarm. Black or white, hot or cold. And no tact! I say, “You’ve got a face that would stop a clock,” when I could say, “When I look at you, time stands still.”
My computer died in June.
It’s now looking like I lost everything on the hard drive.
Everything I wrote, all the backups I made are bad.
Oh well
Well, shoot. I feel for you: I lost all my retreat speeches, my Spanish music files, and my pictures in the Great Crash a few years ago.
Aw, darn. That stinks, Darks. I’m so sorry!
My first computer was a Gateway, and it must have been made on a Monday, because it seems at least once a month, it would crash, and the BSOD was the rule rather than the exception. I have the backups, but what I didn’t do was have them transferred from the floppy A to a CD-ROM. So there all that info sits... And I don’t know if its good or bad copy.
Kitteh sez if U don’ get up, I gonna POUNCE!!
Good morning.
My sleep patterns are the pits. It was 2100 before I finally kissed the pillow good night, and then up at 0215. Since tomorrow is linens-day, I need to be up by 0130 in order to get everything done that needs to be done before I head for the laundry room.
Unngh.
So maybe I’ll get a letter written. I only got one done yesterday, and I’m thinking this will be a week of S-L-O-w-S.
Since “someone” let the cat out of the bag on FB, I decided to go whole hog and just posted what I felt. I moved here, hoping to be closer to family in St George, and that hasn’t worked out, so I’m movin’ on. I posted that yesterday and have gotten several responses, but only one from a family member — NOT in St George! Either they want nothing to do with me, or they’re ashamed of themselves. Either way, my decision has been made.
But there is good news! The “Kids” are coming today or tomorrow to get the bookcase and the desk, so that will be good. I will have some room in here! :o])
I hope they finally make it to get their stuff. Sleep when you can!
Maybe I’ll get something done today, other than church. I was going to write a card last night, but being out in the blast-furnace heat all afternoon fried my brain. I feel better today.
Speaking of laundry, I have a load in the dryer.
I hope they get it on their way to Mesquite and not on their way back. They have stuff in storage, there, so I’m guessing with my sister safely ensconced in ND, her kids won’t make it this far west again, only to Denver to visit a brother.
I put some ribs on to cook, and I think I’ll steam to rice to go with them. When I was getting the ribs ready for the crock, I noticed the bottom, which I couldn’t see, had a half-inch of fat on it. So I trimmed the worst of it. I was disappointed. I would have been better to get regular ribs, I think.
I had a small 2-qt crock that was more than perfect for me, but James saw it when they took me to lunch, and since it had the Captain America logo (it matched the shirt he was wearing) he talked me out of it. Now I need to get another at Walmart, since they have some for $10. The big one is just way too large for me alone.
Anyway, they’ll be done about the time I start to get really hungry.
*tagline*
Sounds like a plan. I did some laundry.
James told me his and Vlad’s wash would be done at camp. I offered him more clean socks and underwear, but he didn’t take them.
We had thunderstorms in the evening again. Tough weekend for the Scouts who were camping this time, with storms both nights.
A branch came down from the maple tree in the front yard, but it missed the car. We’re having a bad year with trees.
We have yet to start with the thunderstorms. I dread them, of course. They never bothered me until I spent a spring and summer in SD. Then I learned what REAL thunderstorms were, and what “tornado weather” was. When the lightning struck, the thunder rolled all around the horizon and was loud enough to cause the bed to move across the linoleum floor.
Since then, I can’t get far enough away from thunderstorms.
I’m very sorry about your maple tree, but glad it missed the car. I hope that’s the last tree-problem you have.
Oh, and as an aside, Godzilla is trying to open the cage door. Just something to chew on, I suspect. I can’t have the regular dowel perches in the cage because she and Gonzo both eat them. So I’ve had to buy twigs for them to roost on.
Somehow you ended up with a devil-bird!
Yep. She’s almost hateful. Poor Gonzo, he still can’t figure out what all the fuss is about. He’s a little on the stupid side, but that’s OK. He has a name and he’s well fed and gets covered at night, and that’s more than he had the first five years of his life.
Poor Gonzo had it even worse than Jack the dragon!
Yep, he and Beaker were both abused about as bad as can happen for birds. And people wonder why I take rescues...
So how many dragons do you have, now? Do you still have Jack Russell?
Just Jack, for dragons. Charlie Russell up and died.
And we have Alice Cooper, the leopard gecko, most boring pet ever.
Why did I put Jack Russell? No brain this morning.
Beardies don’t live very long, do they? Parakeets usually live up to 20 years if they’re healthy, but I have no idea how long Gonzo will live, considering all the things against him from his hatching. One thing is sure, and that’s that I’ll have quite a flock of parakeets when I make it over the Rainbow Bridge!
They can live 15 years or more, but keeping one healthy is a lot more difficult than it would seem, especially when you don’t know how old it is when you got it. Maybe Charlie Russell had hardening of the arteries!
Dragons can all bask on rocks in the Everlasting Australian Outback!
