A kid who licked toilets as part of the #CoronaVirusChallenge says he's now in the hospital with coronavirus. @gayshawnmendes was also just suspended from twitter
It’s an Abyssinian breeder in Russia. Such pretty cats!
I’m super annoyed today, and I’m not sure why. I’ll have to be extra alert so I don’t blow up over nothing.
I’m going to respond to this privately.
I hope you got your stuff sorted out with the library.
I got a variety of running around done, plus choir. Kathleen got a Dunkin’ Donuts gift card from my mother, so after lunch, I’ll take her and Frank to get ice cream or doughnuts.
Then it will be naptime, with or without Jake.
I just got a telemarketer call that said it was from a number in West Jefferson, NC. Since Jefferson is superduper badandall now, I wonder if they’ll change the name to West Betterthanyou.
Yes, finally. All it took was for someone who knew what he was doing. ;o]
The only place that makes doughnuts here has some really nasty bitter chocolate frosting, and that has killed my desire for them. Maybe I’ll try 7-11, since they would have to have them trucked in from St George. So one of these early mornings, maybe on my next trip to Walmart, on Tuesday.
A guy from church came to the neighbor across the street, and we stood in the middle of the street, in the shade, talking about my Facebook posts. My “politically big mouth” is the term I used. He enjoyed it. He also said he would check around to see where I could find a handgun, because there is talk of problems making their ways here.
He asked if I wanted a .9 mm and I said yes because I didn’t want to make the person mad enough to come after me because I have a pellet gun to do that!
So whether he’ll follow up or not is another story. We’ll see.
Good news about the library, and I’m glad you had a pleasant chat with someone. Life is more fun that way.
It was a change, even though it was only for about five minutes.
I’ve been up since 0040 and have done nothing. The shower is next. An email was answered, and I’ve watched a couple of good shows on PBS — “Secrets Of The Dead” being a favorite of mine. This time it was on a Viking grave.
So my long day starts. I’ll stay up until I’m ready to drop or head down the hall at 1400, regardless. This is probably one of the worst things about CFIDS — messed up sleep patterns. I can deal with the rest of the symptoms as a matter of course, but messing with my sleep is a no-no. After a few days, I begin to act stupid. But lack of sleep will do that.
Good morning. I just let the cats out. I’ll be back in a minute with a kitteh.
Awww...a sleepy floof!!
Good morning.
The shower has been had.
Yesterday, just as I was settling into bed, I heard a chirp from the smoke alarm. I always have 9 v. batteries, so I went to get one. Nothing. Not a one. So I dismantled the smoke alarm and have 9 v. batteries on my list along with AAAs. If it ain’t one darn thing...
I may get some stuff done today, the quiet things, like transcribing. Or taking more photos of the bookcases...
I made some sandwiches for the homeless while listening to Jonah Goldberg talking about Alaska. Jake thought I might share some sliced ham with him, but I told him to forget it.
I’ll leave the sandwiches in the refrigerator at church, and a parishioner will take them Uptown on Monday morning.
Whenever I read of you taking things to the homeless, I think back to leaner days. I’m always so grateful for the things I have!
When I was in CO, Favorite Daughter gave me a dog tag from her dad, for each of the two eras he served in. I then sent them to Favorite Son. He sent me a text to say that he had ordered dog tags for himself (couldn’t recall his service number) and in the same week, he got his dad’s. He thought it was a pretty cool coincidence.
Favorite Daughter had sent me a frantic text about an hour earlier, asking for my address. I guess she’s finally sending the Harley shirt!
It would seem Gonzo is feeling a little better, but he’s still sleeping a lot and not moving or making much noise. He still worries me.
Maybe, after I take my next dose of pills, I’ll take a nap, though I hate to think about staying up later because of it.
Our leaner days featured rice and beans. I don’t feel guilty about being comfortably well off, but I do want to help others at every reasonable opportunity.
It’s hot and humid here, already. I need to learn the Psalm for Mass. We practice the response yesterday, but I haven’t worked on the verses.
Vlad just texted from camp. When I go over tomorrow to Range Officer, he wants me to bring bigger pants! He hasn’t worn his uniform in months, and he grew.
I was surprised to find that he’s the same height as Patrick but outweighs him by 30 lbs. Still thin for his height, but not as weedy as Pat.
I guess we were lucky to have had leaner days, when so many have everything they need.
Since I didn’t have much on the docket, I tried to transcribe one of the personal histories (if my family members were rich and famous, they would have “Biographies.”) and found myself falling asleep.
So I took an nap for an hour. Any longer and I wouldn’t have a good night to look forward to.
I’m waiting for the day when I can go back to church without “fear.” I want very much to associate with people without a mask on.
Maybe Vlad will be big like Tom the Son.
Right now, I’m going to clean the cages, which should have been done yesterday, and work on whatever suits my fancy. I had to turn the thermostat down on the room A/C because it was just too warm in here for the electronics.
(Stupid ice pick headaches have made an appearance along with the sleeplessness. GAH!0
Vlad is the most likely to reach Tom’s height, but he doesn’t have the hefty build. Tom/James/Frank have the stout forms. Bill and Pat are 5’10”-ish and skinny, while Vlad will be very tall and not quite so thin.
Pat contributed his pants, and I’ll take a pair of DP’s, too. Hopefully something will fit!
My goodness.
Yep. I need to make a visit one of these days. MAybe after I get moved to Arkansas would be a better time. I think it would be a lot of fun without the distractions you had the last time I visited! ;o]
It would be nice to see how much the offspring have changed.
Maybe in 2021. We’ll just have to see!
Yep. It’s far too late to plan anything any sooner than that. But we need to catch up on stuff! Letters and chat threads are OK but that face-to-face beats it all! It’s something to think about, anyway.
