Good morning. You are, as always, a pattern card of diligence and early-morning accomplishment!

It’s Monday here, and the newspaper didn’t come, again.

People look at me like I’m crazy when I tell them my early hour-rising schedule, but I accomplish more in the first three hours (on most days) of my day than most people do by afternoon. At least, those who have no jobs!

The early hours are when my stamina is at its peak and I have to take advantage of that. At least, if I expect to get anything done. There are days, of course, when other things interfere, and my stamina is wasted doing things that aren’t nearly as productive as I would have them be.

Is the newspaper supposed to come on a holiday? Some papers don’t, of course. Like my hometown rag. Been in operation over 100 years and still going!

I don’t know if we were supposed to have a weekend edition, because of July 4, but we are supposed to get it on Mondays!

The WSJ website shows there was no weekend edition. If they don’t cough up the Monday one at some point, I’ll have to print out the crossword puzzle.

Today is a federal holiday. No mail. No banks. So I can’t do anything until tomorrow. No laundry money, either.

Closing things down on Mondays always seemed idiotic to me, but I don’t make the laws. Darnit.

I’ll have to start doing crossword puzzles again on a daily basis. I used to do them all the time. Not so much, lately. I’m sure it will help me on those days when my brain wants the comfort of the gray lint.

Oh, I thought Friday was the Federal holiday. Just goes to show ...

I didn’t need to go to the Post Office, anyway.

Good morning, everyone. Happy Monday. I trust everyone had a good 4th of July.

We went to the in-laws to grill some chicken for them. The grill ran out of propane with about 10 minutes to go, so dinner was late.

Otherwise the day and weekend were uneventful. Puppy has decided she can sleep through to around 5am without making a mess in her area. So we’re making progress. Which is much better than making congress.

Some things closed on Friday because they could, but as is usual, when a holiday is on the weekend, Monday is the designated holiday.

Dismally Inept Lawn Service is here again, and I had to run out and put the cover on the windshield. I keep thinking they would take the Monday Holiday off, but this group never does. When I get ready to go to Walmart on Tuesdays, I have to take the time to remove it because they’re seldom done by the time I go to bed.

Crikey. I have 10 things that need to go out in the mail tomorrow. What a pain. The car books (such wonderful eye candy!!) a table topper, the coffee and some genealogical stuff, the loaned backpack to my Real Brother, a book on Keto dieting for James, because he is prone to diabetes (his dad and paternal grandfather) and a book by Real Brother to Favorite Son. And stamps.com with the messed up stamp pages. *sheesh*

Speaking of Real Brother, he gave me a Pogo Possum book!!!

The interwebs say if the 4th is on Saturday then the holiday is Friday. If the 4th is on Sunday then the holiday is Monday.

Like I said, some did and some didn’t. USDA is taking both days off, which is very annoying.

So how was your Fourth celebration?

I’m glad to know your in-laws were able to share the day with you. Or vice-versa.

And its wonderful news about Puppy! I’m so glad to hear that. :o])

The interwebs I checked on Friday said today was the holiday. So I guess we have different interwebs. Things here are closed, mostly.

Clearly there are two Americas here. Now I finally get to be a victim. Oh, wait. Which one owes the other one reparations?

If you pay yourself reparations, does one of you owe income tax while the other gets a deduction?

Oh, crikey. I really liked him. I followed his blog for several years. Connor met him at a concert at Ft Lewis, WA about 15 years ago. Connor no doubt had a lot of questions about violins, because they both played. Connor was an amateur, of course, but the fact that he had his photo taken with Charlie Daniels is something to remember and cherish.

He wrote a memoir which was very interesting. I’m always fascinating by the different ways people end up as major music stars.
