County population is small, we have two hospitals, and some urgent care clinics. 60 miles north of Seattle, 40 miles south of the Canadian border.
I read that we have 10 ICU beds neg pressure, and our combined population is 128K in a county that is almost 2,000 square miles in size.
Stay the hell out Seattle.

Yes, they’d be totally closed. Hundreds dying in the parking lot. Panic everywhere. No one would go to work, not the people at the water company, not the city government people, no one. Everyman for himself.
Like I said, the center does not hold in a burn through scenario. You have to form a new government out of the survivors. It’s not an option.

Actually, a more palatable version of a complete debt holiday is for the Fed to establish a facility where every one of those CDOs and Derivatives is guaranteed.
Not unlike the FDIC.
Sure, it’s printed money but all of it is anyway. And such a facility would prevent a complete debt collapse and deflation.
It’s one thing to shut down mainstreet for a few weeks, then turn it back on. But once you destroy the financial infrastructure it takes decades, even a century or more to come back.
Everyone has to know they are going to get paid. Eventually.

~3% of the people that go on a ventilator for this survive it. Ventilators are just a hot topic, and something to rack up a fat bill. If you have to go on a ventilator you’d better be right with the Lord...
