Ha ha! Really, it is strange the way customers want to lean in, nose to nose to ask for assistance. I back up, they move closer. My post office had a graphic posted to demonstrate distance that should be maintained. I would love to post it all around grocery stores.
I went to the post office today. People were trying to spread out but it just wasnt enough space. The guy behind me kept getting too close even though he could clearly see I had a big gap in front me.
So I started the coughing technique

That said, I probably got Wuhan today. That clerk looked sick as a dog. wuhan is probably all over my package. But I will be optimistic in that they are union and so if she was really sick she could have taken off work

The last few times I was in Walmart people seemed to be carefully keeping their distance. I was. I would attribute some of what you are seeing to you paying more attention when somebody gets too close. Just a thought.
