As of March 20, a total of 150 U.S. residents have died from Covid-19 as of 4:00 PM on March 18, 2020. Among these deaths, 66 occurred in the State of Washington, and at least 35 of them are associated with a single nursing home near Seattle.
To put those figures in perspective:
Roughly 12,469 people in the U.S. died from the swine flu from April 12, 2009 to April 10, 2010. Unlike Covid-19, which mainly kills older people with preexisting health problems, 87% of people killed by the swine flu were under the age of 65.
An average of 37,000 people in the U.S. have died from influenza (“the flu”) each year over the past nine years.
About 67,000 people per year in the U.S. die from drug overdoses.
Around 170,000 people per year in the U.S. die from accidents.
About 80% of those with corona virus need no treatment, just rest.
The death rate, which was originally reported to be in the 3.5-5% range has been going down dramatically--roughly between .2% and 1.2%. This is in line with the flu. This is because the denominator is going up. Lots more people with no symptoms have been discovered.
Of course, the concern is that the number of corona virus infections will increase a lot.
Who cares? Do you know how it's going to progress better than President Trump? No, you don't.

Totally crashing our economy over an average of 10 deaths a day since Feb 29,2020 (first death on 2/29/20 in Washington).
In 20 days 205 deaths as of today in US since 2/29/20.
Actually a nursing home, so by definition everyone there is medically challenged.
I also understand that Italy has @5,000 ICU beds vs the US with @1,000,000.

As of yesterday, he stated that there were a total of 65 individuals nation-side in the US that were in-patients in hospitals.

It may, and probably will, bloom. But not to the numbers that would call for our current state of nation-wide panicking and pearl-clutching.
