An NBC News employee has died after being infected with the novel coronavirus, the network announced on Friday morning.
The employee, Larry Edgeworth, worked in the equipment room at the network's 30 Rockefeller Plaza office in midtown Manhattan.

So why have deaths in China, South Korea, Taiwan and Singapore gone down sharply? Could it be because of quarantines put in place, quarantines president Trump and state governors are putting in place now? What some here refer to as "hysteria".
How do you justify complaining about actions to lower deaths in the US while citing other countries who have implemented these very actions, which have proven to lower deaths?

A scenario which entirely rejected the reality (which was already known from the quarantined cruise ships) that hydroxychloroquine (which has been in use for seventy years) will prevent this disease.
Now production is being ramped up and rapidly much of the population will be both protected from the Wuhan Bioweapon and prevented from transmitting it.

I can see it. I don’t know that not telling everything you know is necessarily a ‘cover up’ although I can see how a hostile press might like to portray it as such. I think that not disclosing at this time is justified in the public interest and I’m perhaps unreasonably certain that most of the public would agree.
As a hypothetical: You, President billyboy15 have been told by people who are in a position to know that Wuhan virus has the potential to kill 2 1/2 million Americans if it is not somehow kept in check. Would you announce that fact to the American public, knowing that it would not help in anyway possible to contain the spread of the virus?
I can see a scenario where if, and I hope this comes to pass, the extreme measures limit the deaths to much less than the prediction, could be seen as a great medical victory and for you, President billyboy15 a great political victory as well. Your actions have saved the nation.
I don’t know what President Trump (and other world leaders) know, and likely you don’t know either. I am reasonably certain that they in fact do know things about Wuhan that we don’t know—wouldn’t you be surprised and disappointed if they didn’t?

I’m a strong person. The worst was the shock. I remarried six years later and we’ve been married for 36 years. Things work out if you give them time.
This germ scared me. My first thought was that people were overreacting, but when I saw that it looked so much like SARS, I could see how it could create crisis emergency. What if it kills like SARS did while being as contagious as the common cold?
My first question I had to answer was, “How does it kill?” When I answered that question I knew everything and have not had a surprise since. In their first report of the virus, the Chinese doctors showed the Sanger sequencing and the homology model and released all the information worldwide.
There is a principle in epidemiology, that the deadlier it is, the harder it is to spread it (it kills the host). The easier it is to spread the less dangerous it is (it is trying to replicate and spread).
Virology is not a new science! The virology of the germ is the key to the epidemiology. We should take this seriously yes. No we need not wet the bed either.
Epidemiology is not a new science, however it is as much sociology as biology and physics. Because we use Farr’s Law and because there are computer models using calculus type equations that reliably predict the spread of a virus, there is an illusion that the principles are hard to understand and reserved only for intellectuals.
Three virological features explain what is happening, and please anyone correct me:
1) It is too much bat(or pangolin) virus! It should not even be infectious to us, but this is why the children largely are spared, and why so many are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms.
2) It is a coronavirus. Those spikes are a pathway into the cell. This enables it to kill those who are genetically susceptible and those with co-morbidity as does the seasonal flu and many other viruses.
3) There is a split in the spike protein. This enables it to kill even more than the flu because it has a second pathway into the cell. Those who have a genetic susceptibility to this pathway, like the elderly and Asian smokers are in danger.

Virus have always been named for their place origin. Just because the media or anyone else SAYS this or that is “politically incorrect” does not in fact make it so. This would only be the case if we allow it to be so and this President is refusing to bow to the Left and I believe he will continue to do so and rightly.
As for your conspiracy of a world wide cover up. I find it totally impossible to believe that politicians all over the planet would or could successfully keep a secret of this magnitude (or any secret at all for that matter.)

I am actually very sorry to hear of the death of the NBC employee. I am sure he was a fine person, and am extremely sorry for his family. I believe most of the technical people who work at NBC are fine people, and are just doing the job they enjoy doing.
However, the media propagandists who predominate at NBC are beneath contempt.
