Just exactly how does a senator get $1.7 m in stock to begin with? I don’t know anything about Burr, but in general these public servants find so many ways to enrich themselves while in office.
He bought Apple when it was in single digits.
He made his original stake with a $1,000 bet on cattle futures and netted $100,000 from that. Then it was an easy ride with tips from his “brokers” to get that to $1.7M.

Then in re to In-Q-Tel the seee eyyyye ehhhh’s govt.sponsored techie companies (like facebook, a DOD DarpaLog project, or any number in the In-Q-Tel- look it up, history). In-Q-Tel includes biotechnology companies, and even some spooky biowarfare tech (dare one say how that might have partnered with our Chi-com enemies? And then say they were “spying on them”) Burr was privy to ALL of this tech sector for investment.... and divestment. This is not right—but it is how they make major govt. sponsored bucks.
The In-Q-Tel invention included the stipend for Bezo’s Amazon, and the “cloud computing” contract for same agency, and a payoff to him of 600 million to enable purchase of the WaPo.BezosPo. Bezos is certainly no business genius— he is a front man for you know who and his paper a mouthpiece they had to preserve.
The creation of In-Q-Tel was from one of Brennan’s proteges, a female undergraduate from Duke in zoology (can you say proto-drone-robot technology). She was being weaseled into the position that Trump removed Dan Coats from - the Dir. of National Intelligence. Trump kicked her out—for the obvious reason she would be “running the coup” continuing at the behest of Brennan. He put in- instead Adm Maguire, as acting.... and now the Ambassador to Germany he brought in again as acting. Ambassador Grenell.
A lot of them, like Donald Trump, come to the House or especially the Senate having made their fortunes.
