Day #19 here:

My friends husband who literally spends his weekends playing video games has said the same.
No great surprise. Violence will rise for a number of reasons. It’s long past time for everyone to be home.
Heard from a friend their 20-something relative is studying abroad (thought colleges were bringing students back) and decided during break to go sightseeing in surrounding countries. Her mama threw a fit when she found out when the kid called all happy-happy totally oblivious to those countries closing down. They ended up on a bus just in time.
Uh, hellooo: “The government is recommending against all but essential travel and has imposed major restrictions on incoming travellers.”

Even the Netherlands can get test results in 24 hours but we can’t. It’s been 4 days and there’s still no confirmation from some near us.
Yay!!
(Only...they don’t seem to be social distancing..lol.)
We have several Amazon distribution facilities around the greater Houston area. I imagine they are hiring, as well.
Amazon has to be going gangbusters, more than ever.
I was thinking that laid off restaurant peeps could get work at local Amazon’s and grocery stores.
SPAIN

100k, 200k in credit card debt, less than 1k in savings, not abnormal.

Ugh.....that gives me a queasy feeling.
Sad that people get into that shape.
He implied just taking someone elses...
He knows better than to try to take ours, my hubby and a friend of his shoot for competitions.
I guess he meant grannies and the like.
It’s a castle doctrine state so IMHO it would have been better to just buy your OWN tp...but I guess he likes to live risky?

By the way, are local governments checking our water supply for the virus? I know normal treatment should kill CV, but still...

Great question.
Also, how are the stockpiles of their treatment chems doing?

I’ve wondered about muni water treatment chemicals since they locked down the first port back at the end of January.
Incredible....just heard the Goya CEO say that in many locations....the truck pulls up (canned beans/veggies) and people are so desperate, that product doesn’t even make it into the store....people are purchasing in the parking lot!
If the economy ever recovers, merchants should take note of what went and what stayed put.
My roommate works the night shift at an Amazon distribution center. They are on mandatory overtime (shes working 6-10 hour shifts per week)just like they were at Christmas and they are hiring.
However part of the problem as she tells me, is that Amazon enacted a liberal leave policy, so if you feel sick or someone in your family is sick, absences without notices are not counted against you. And they dont have to prove what their or their family members illness is. She tells me she thinks a lot of especially the younger workers are taking advantage of the policy and causing staff shortages on top of the very high demand.
Ohio 2-year-old tests positive for COVID-19

Wow - that’s scary. Was that during an interview?
Exactly. I posted a pic of the Chamber of Commerce and customers helping stock a small town store. It’s nice and probably much needed but that’s adding the potential for more germs. Spray everything and leave what you can outside.
On my final shopping trip, the groceries were in the back of the SUV (no safe separate trunk) and a couple items from the hardware store were in the passenger seat and I thought, “oh geez.” I drove home with the windows and sunroof open but then wondered if the wind was blowing the germs all over me. Can’t win. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.
