Went on 17-day Panama Canal cruise, started Feb. 5, got off ship on Feb. 22. On Feb. 19, started with sore throat, cough and fatigue. No shortness of breath. My five cruisemates also got sick with the same symptoms, but one did exhibit shortness of breath.
Got home and self-quarantined, went to Dr. Feb. 25, and she prescribed Doxycyclene, which did not alleviate symptoms. After five days, Dr. called and sent me for chest X-ray, which showed pneumonia. She then prescribed Levaquin, which I took for one week. Finished with Levaquin this past Monday, and am feeling much better.
Other than definite diagnosis of pneumonia, I don't know and no doubt never will know, whether it was Wuhan virus. I'm a 75-year old female, non-smoker, grateful that I have no underlying health issues.
No problem.
Thanks for the post. I heard Wuhan shut down for 2 weeks. That would stop the exponential growth. The authors point about social interactions with a repetitive group of people makes sense. I suspect the exponential growth in the US will continue at the same rate for 4 to 8 days. This is because of the infected people who hadnt shown symptoms. After that Id think the effect of the shutdowns will start decreasing the spread rate.
So everyone stays locked up for three weeks -- except the bums of course who will continue to crap up and down Market Street in San Francisco... -- then what?
We're about to learn a hard lesson -- we're about to go through the breakdown of our society's infrastructure and the societal framework ... that the fear and panic created by the media, the medical "experts" and by those on social media who can't wait to spread the latest fear-inducing reports is far, incredibly far more a problem than is this flu.
I can paint a far greater reason for hysteria and panic than does this flu. How about when the hysteria coupled with the increasingly popular "forced lockdowns" remedy cause the electrical grid to go out and natural gas and propane to stop flowing because technicians are not allowed out of their homes or rendered scared schiff-less to venture out? Or how about when the water treatment plants and the wastewater treatment plants shut down because of the fear of catching this flu ... what then?
I was hoping President Trump's efforts would provide a measure of perspective ... of sanity. But the herd appears headed for a stampede of epic proportions. Can it be stopped before far more people suffer and die from the results than would suffer and die from this flu? I predict we'll soon find out.
Im very glad you are feeling better and have recovered from whatever it was that you had.
I think I will listen to the medical experts and their suggestions, as I would hate to have the entire hospital system overwhelmed and I can’t use the hospital if I need it.
You couldnt have said what Im thinking any better. This hysteria is beyond out of control.
The last ten days to two weeks, Ive been optimistic and hopeful that the pockets of fear would soon be gone. I was so wrong.
Every day my community has devolved into fear and more fear. I havent hoarded one thing. I have been going along, business as usual, hoping that a few calm folks would get others to stay calm.
They arent staying calm. My disappearing grocery shelves show me every day or two that the media has won this battle.
I just hope we win the war.
Well san Francisco is on lock down now. Will be interesting in a few ways. Either they have cases, or need to clean the area
Yep, people are goin' nuts, driven by a whacko media intent on pulling down Trump.
