The article says these two patients “had no underlying conditions”.
I’m sorry to say it, but looking at the photos, they do have an underlying condition. They’d easily fall in the category of morbidly obese. That is a medical condition unfortunately and a high risk factor for serious complications.
I’ll risk the guess that one or both have sleeping difficulty and may need a cpap, prior to infection.

I agree. Im not sure the general public knows yet that obesity is a major risk factor with this virus. That spells trouble for the US.
One characteristic of the COVID19 is the possibility that one’s immune system “trips” and subsequently goes into an over production mode- to the degree that the antibodies begin attacking “good cells” and in some cases the result is organ failure, leading to death. This harmful behavior can occur quite rapidly.
What are the underlying factors that cause this malfunction to occur in one person yet not in another? Are there common denominators? I’m guessing that research is underway to find the answers.
