First death in Indiana man over 60 underlying health issues. Spouse also had it and they “had to be kept apart” said good-byes via iPad. Help me with two positive spouses having to be kept apart, I don’t get that.
As far as faith goes, there are as many themes on that as there are people.
I think viruses happen. I think God gives us brains to deal with these things. Its not sent from him. It doesnt have a super natural invent. It simply is.
From a personal point, God continues to send me tests. They have been difficult and when I needed help...I was sent people and spirit to get me through. I am grateful for that. Every day.
I am sure my experience is not unique.

I was at the Idaho place from mid-December to March 2. I thought I’d come back to CA for some slightly warmer weather. The winter last year really clobbered me in ID with severe bronchitis and what the doc thought was pneumonia for 12 long, dreadful weeks.
I figure it’s going to spread everywhere so a slightly better climate may help. In fact, it may be better to get it early rather than later when treatment options will be better.
I agree.
Will need to address people who have important doctor appointments, food deliveries for elderly, etc.

Plenty of food in Raleigh area, just not much hand soap or toilet paper.
You dont have to look that far back. Just look at the 1918 Influenza. It wiped out between 20-50 million. When you dont know the tens of millions it killed...that is a big deal.
I am comparing the novel aspect of the virusnot the results.
Historically, this happened pretty often. Travel and communication has changed to the point where transmission takes days instead of weeks and months. That is what makes it unquie.
And why people will study the viral aspect (pun kind of intended) of the social impact of this for decades.
The post above yours...

Six Bay Area counties are expected to announce a shelter in place order for all residents on Monday, directing everyone to stay inside their homes and away from others as much as possible for the next three weeks as public health officials desperately try to curb the rapid spread of coronavirus across the region.
County authorities were expected to announce the move at 1 p.m. and gave a draft of the order to media outlets to prepare. The Chronicle is reporting the story after a television station published the news early.
