I grew up in L. A. so I enjoyed the movie as reminders of my youth. Lots of stuff in that movie I did not realize was happening at the time.

I was impressed by the legit attention to detail to recreate 1969. It occurs to me that we are probably about at the limit of time elapsed where it’s still possible to do that. Like when we were kids there were so many Great War movies and all the players had tons of real uniforms and rifles and everything was “correct”. Now they have trouble coming up with enough legit artifacts. The Discovery channel is constantly showing re-enactments of “soldiers” caring all sorts of inappropriate gear.

I thought it was a nice historical touch that the LA freeways of 1969 were actually drivable, not jam-packed with traffic.
