+Alberta Premier Jason Kenney said Sunday that there are now 56 cases of COVID-19 confirmed in the province, with 17 of those confirmed over the last 24 hours.
Kenney said in response to the increase in cases, there will be an immediate cancellation of all K-12 and post-secondary classes and the closure of licenced child care programs in the province.
Hinshaw said that based on what she has seen over the last two days, it was time for additional action and its not a decision that she made lightly.
We need to put in more restrictions to help slow the virus and protect public health, she said. That is why effective immediately the emergency management cabinet committee has approved my recommendation that students no longer attend classes in schools or post-secondary institutions until further notice.
Yet WV remains untouched.
Some WV doctor said the “WV Crud” [as we call it] last year *may* have been related, therefore, we’re all already immune.
I know that after Lenny’s troubles in July, visiting him in the WV hospital, I wound up with a long lived annoying but “mild” persistent cough/chest congestion that is just now slacking off.
Something to wonder about.
What is the count in SW BC?
Can you imagine all the layoffs coming down the pipe? Casual teachers. Part time staff in retail. Restaurants. Civic and leisure centres.
Interesting. Here in Connecticut, hubby and I had the most horrific "bad cold" or "flu" in November 2019 (for me), and December 2019 (for him) with pretty much all the same symptoms as COVID-19. It did feel like a bad cold, crossed with some kind of flu. Several other people we've talked to in CT had the same.
We're starting to wonder if we might have gotten an early case of the current 'coronavirus'.
Each of us had this for about 4-5 weeks. We've never before had a cold or flu that lasted that long.
Every single year, “something goes around” in the northwest part of WV.
We get it.
Stuffy nose, dry cough that switches to wet and then back, lungs feel weird and heavy, feeling “off” and fatigue.
Kinda like a bronchitis mixed with something else.
Never amounts to more than a long annoyance.
Even my doctor calls it the WV Crud because it’s not identified and pointless to treat, except for usual palliative measures.
This winter, everyone in the office got “the flu”, despite all having flu shots, which I always decline.
[and I didn’t get it, even being around all of them]
Makes me wonder.
Not saying it’s not real but the pixels look smeared and the letters ‘shopped.
Look at the area to right of the writing.
Photoshop
Same here. I usually get about one cold a year... hubby gets maybe two. But we both got "whacked" this past late fall. I never went to the doctor for it... he finally did, as he was wheezing, and his cough just would NOT stop. (Neither of us have ever smoked, and we don't have underlying conditions, although I just have some annoying sinus issues).
It just lasted SO long... it seemed like it would never end. We're still wondering what we had.
WV Crud, northern version.
:)
My son, no fan of WV, says of course they have no cases, someone infected would have to go there, and nobody goes to West Virginia.
God’s Country.
Yep. The CT Crud!

Ditto. Doc called it pneumonia listening to my chest. Didn’t impair me in my fairly strenuous job though. Started with a cough, lasted 2 months, ended in monster deep chest congestion.
Zoom in to the letters. An obvious photoshop.

Construction is the big one. Once you stop building because of a recession it just cascades up and down the economy.
