I don’t trust the media. Most of them I assuming are lying.
I am highly skeptical of government bureaucrats. Many of whom are incompetents or liars or both.
I assume (usually correctly) that most official sources of this sort of information have various agendas which color their information even with good intentions.
Now.....that said....I am 68 & Mrs. Child is 67. Both in good health. Our daughter has been very close friends with someone for 15 years who has been with the NIH for much of that time. This person has a PHD in the relevant research sciences and has traveled all over the world in her capacity with the NIH. Our daughter, who is annoyingly (sometimes) smart, says that this friend (no names) makes her look slow, LOL. This person told her that the severity of the infections damaging lungs is being significantly under reported & wants us to be *very* cautious.
While I am quite skeptical of most sources, I am not so with this person.
Are we panicking? No. But I got a little too close to dying of flu complications in January 2019 after not having had the flu in at least 3 decades. A real bell ringer, I will tell you. So, prudent is the key word in my house right now. I’m doing the online shopping/pickup at Kroger for the time being and time out to fight cabin fever is riding my motorcycle as much as weather permits.
I am very concerned that this is going to tank my business and maybe force me to hit our IRAs which are none too flush.
Pretty sure I read that it is damaging lungs with effects after you recover but I dont remember where I saw it. I think it also said they are watching to see how the lung recovered long term. Too soon to tell
A very reasonable post.
