The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for todays Cryptogram.
If you're just starting out on these, be patient, as you'll be proficient in no time.
If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hals Helper below:
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.
Today CG from a favorite of mine.
Ah, those contractions were an easy way in.
1 and 1/2 min. Solved the contractions and the rest of words became apparent.
‘guessed right’ on the first contraction.

Have you considered sending these to J Biden and a few of the other ‘supposed leaders’ that are making ANYONE over 70 look like complete jackasses...AND I do resent that assumption NOT resemble.....<: <:
Then again if we couldn’t laugh at their stupidity and misgivings (they put THEMSELVES on that pedestal so no sense them ‘crying’ now about how ‘WE’ treat them) their words would be completely meaningless
First word was a repeat of a last week puzzle
I remember him on the talk show circuit in the 60s. he used to light the next cigarette with the old one.
Got the contractions in the correct spots, lead to complete contraction words, then raced to complete solution
Easy because of the first word.
Very easy, a real pleasure.
Also, didnt he appear in a lot of movies with Gene Kelly and Sinatra. Playing piano.?
American in Paris.
First word just jumps out at you....~45 secs. Except the authors last name. ...not the wiener guy, not the Odd Couple guy, not the Tin Drum guy...
Very nice and simple.
Been gone for a week and the first one when I get back is so appropriate!! Thank you!
