The first responders I spoke with and several doctors say that flu was rough this winter and many people with very similar symptoms to Covid were sent home to recover. Did they already have it? Has it already been thru here?

I believe that this is definitely a possibility. My wife who is a retired nurse with decades of clinical experience wondered the same thing just a couple of days ago. The hysteria surrounding this has largely been driven by the media and politics.

The virus had a severe outbreak in a very densely populated and vulnerable area where 52% of the male population are smokers and the females are cohabitating in small spaces breathing in all that second hand smoke. This is not to mention the pollution typical in the place. This caught the world's attention.

If it had started in a normal American community where 6 people typically are not living in a 400 sq. ft. apartments sharing bathrooms and kitchens with their neighbors it wouldn't have spread around so efficiently. No one would have even suspected that it might be something other than the flu. The symptoms are very similar for most people. And people here are not getting the mega-dose of virus that people living in such close quarters are getting.

Sadly, I will never look upon my fellow countrymen the same.

We are weak scared cowardly nation.

No one will have egg on their face because you will be told that it was because of the lockdown measures the thing fizzled. To a large extent that could be true. However there is no way to know because of the lack of testing.

That is the true blunder. Despite decades of planning for a virus X, the CDC and FDA where totally unprepared. The after action reports will be brutal. Heads should roll.

Like the FBI, CIA the top tear of America’s institutions are rotten. It s a given that the Press will always be, as is education. The run at destroying health care had eight years of systematic attack by the democraps. Trump finally said it about the CDC the other day. Because of continued Republican Cowardice, reforms will not happen.

That, and not the virus per see, is what will kill America.

Nobody will because it appears that's about how long it takes to run through the general population. Look at the data from China and other countries. New York and Washington state seem to be peaking, while down here in Texas it's spotty.
