You are 100% correct. What this boils down to is this:

Panic is stupid as are the its just the flu bros. It is worse than the flu. Many require hospitalization. Do your part to not overload the system and alleviate unnecessary deaths. Avoid crowds, wash your hands a lot, and self quarantine if sick. Make a point to try not to catch it and make a point not to spread it if you do. Simple.
