This info is really out of date. Virginia reported 41 cases today, and the first death.
Thank you. I’m unafraid. Even for my seven-year-old daughter. The basic precautions are what were always prudent.
Ought I to be more concerned?
“Covid19 has a 2.0% death rate.”
After researching the excellent links on the thread, I wish to change:
Covid19 has a 1.0% death rate. Much better number.
I’ve spent time in Italy and have friends there. It’s a horror show, for sure. All my close Italian friends have made there way here to the States.
It all just seems such overkill to me. That said, nothing exactly like this has occurred in my lifetime.
I’m listening.
No one I’ve come across in LA has encountered a victim of any variant of the flu. Or anywhere else I’ve been the past few months. This doesn’t mean anything apart from what it says.
If one in fifteen will lose their lives in Italy, there are many ways of reading this.
In your view, how concerned should we be? Those of us native to the country; those who’ve taken early refuge here like my friends?
Because I’ve been trying to calm everyone with word this is all over-blown. Based on the best information I had at the time.
I think you are sort of right, thanks.
Here is a page with statistics by state, but it might not be current or complete?
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/usa-coronavirus/
You're so right. 9-11 only killed 3,000 and that was only one time. I'm not so sure what we got so worked up about.
WA is up to 40 deaths and 642 confirmed cases, itself.
The entire state is in some variation of lock down.
Keep an eye on Florida, I’ve got a bad feeling.
You ought to be concerned with anyone in your life, over 60.
Seven year olds are pretty much untouched by this, though I believe they are EXCELLENT at being inadvertently, real good transmitters of the disease, since they are unlikely to get really sick.
Thanks very much for posting. Where’s BIG GOV with age, underlying conditions, etc,. etc. so as not to cause PANIC. They must’ve borrowed the button from Hillary’s RESET and called it PANIC. Re-purposing is the new “thing”.
BIG GOV / BIG PROP ALERT. April 15 coming. Pay up. 2020 in America and ARROGANT EXTORTIONIST Joementia is running for PREZ. Sheesh.
Past Peak Civilization or did The Clown Car blow through that stop sign long ago?
Add one here in Oregon. Just reported in the last 3 hours.
Okay where did they get their test kits?
Patient zero was in Washington. He visited wuhan.
I know that! Did he survive?
As of right now more people have been shot to death in Chicago this year than have died from the Wuhan virus.
Wrong! Washington has 40 deaths among 642 cases! I am living in Washington State. Help! SOS!
I just feel very odd being in the very concerned group (being over 60). How did I get this old? Fortunately, my age is the only negative factor. My 35 year old daughter owns/runs a business and is immune compromised on three levels. :(
Since Alaska is listed twice I think one should be Alabama instead. Both states have only 1.
Under this qualifier for Florida, then FL has more than Colorado...because 10+ of cases were foreign tourists...an early one visiting Summit County + 9+ Australians visiting Aspen...at an early point 3 other Australians in the group were symptomatic but refused testing...not sure if that has changed, potentially adding to state total.
These dozen Australians travelling together shows how easy it can spread within small groups with constant close-quarter contact.
