No, in epidemiology it is a fundamental distinction. Classic airborne transmission is anthrax - just the spores drifting around.

Sure, but what I’m concerned about is spread and duration. The smaller the particle, the longer it stays airborne, and therefore the more dangerous it is, absent mechanisms of decay. But, this article stated NO airborne transmission, which is too optimistic relative to other reports. Bare virions would be even worse than droplets, of course.
