Strange flu?
I got sick with bad colds that got into my lungs (they always do) early last November and again in late December.
My first cold spiked a fever of 102 but I had a phlegmy cough and no body aches. Runny nose too.
I’m mildly immune suppressed because of leukemia. I’ve been in remission for 2 1/2 years now. I’ve always assumed that these bad colds (although the last two were rough) were because of my immune system being down a bit.
Tingling can occur at the beginning of influenza infection as well. This isn’t an indication it is cv specifically.
here’s another source - a blog but with cited sources - scroll down about 2/3rds to the paragraph that starts with:
Li et al (2016; Intervirology, 2016; 59: 163-169) published a study of coronavirus infections in the CNS and Respiratory Tract in hospitalized children in China.
FL
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. Amid a spreading worldwide pandemic, Broward Countys newly confirmed COVID-19 cases nearly doubled in one day. About half of them include patients ages 19 to 27.
Second Johnston County person tests positive for COVID-19 (North Carolina, 3/14/20)
I think you’re looking for this, https://twitter.com/lookner/status/1239034140835577856
Has to have that word, “status” in there for an individual tweet, else you’re just sending people to his feed and as fast as Lookner posts to twitter, something can get buried pretty quick since it’s all chronological. To get that individual tweet status link, you have to click on that tweet but I admit, it is tricky at first. Best to click below their little profile pic, outside of the tweet content but within the tweets column. Basically directly below his pic that’s at the top left of every tweet of his if you’re on a computer.
No worries. You’re part of the 99.7% of FReepers that doesn’t(or maybe didn’t now) know how to link to a single tweet.
Smells like FUD and rumor.
I know how serious airborne transmission is, but for something that important, the control room personnel would be on the highest priority list for those to be issued protective gear.
There aren’t THAT many nuclear power plant control room workers compared to MDs, for it to be an impossible burden.
(France gets 70% of its power from nuclear power plants. What are THEY doing?)
Thats not good
Thanks—I will practice... :-)
Great....flying in, from London....just before the cutoff.
Glad they got him/her, for further testing...praying the whole, d@mn plane wasn’t infected :(
I think I’m going to wrap the bread in the freezer as well. I think the frozen veggies should be OK, since they have their own special packaging.
you’re right. It is ridiculous. All this should be long-built into contingency plans. And we’re only talking (hopefully) a few thousand patients per state that are going to need ICU support
Spring Breakers in full swing.
Something to make the the finished product, more gentle than a cheese grater...!
waves hand:: I’m part of that 97% tweet-impaired. :)
Good to know as I’ve been shopping late hours. Thanks.
Do you see any tent cities set up to provide intensive care?
Think how long it would take to set up some, fully equipped and fully staffed.
NYC may hit the wall as soon as a week from today, almost certainly two weeks from today.
Ditto for Seattle, San Jose, SF, Boston and maybe a few days later DC.
Then the patients needing care double every two, three, four, five days, pick your number.
For another month or two after that...
Interesting thread - a lot of healthcare workers talking about people they treated with severe flu-like Illnesses earlier in the year, and now they think it was CV
