Kudos to the PGA for letting the show go on.

Anyone craving sports will find the replay of today's first round of The Players Championship on Golf Channel. There were actual spectators on the course today, but the plan is no spectators tomorrow, Saturday, or Sunday. So if one of the guys hits a hole-in-one, he will hear not the roar of the crowd but his caddy, his playing partner, and his playing partner's caddy saying, "Good shot, dude." Still, props to the PGA for going on with the show. I can see postponing events at indoor arenas where people are in close quarters, but suspending outdoor events in the open air -- as baseball has done with Spring Training -- seems to be jusssssst a bit of a reach.

Overture, curtain, lights
This is it, the night of nights
No more rehearsing and nursing a part
We know every part by heart
Overture, curtain, lights
This is it, we’ll hit the heights
And oh what heights we’ll hit
On with the show this is it.

Tonight what heights we’ll hit.
On with the show, this is it.

“Golf is a non-contact sport, so....”

They didn’t shut it down for the virus, they shut it down for the revenue they would lose. If there is no one there to see the bag, the hats, the shoes and the advertising on the shirts, pants, and caddies clothing, it will not get the items sold to the public. TV revenues and visual sponsor money for sales are what make the sport lucrative. If there is no one to see it, does a bear walk in the woods?

Golf. Who watches that? Watching ants is a great deal more interesting.

I suspect that many mid-size to smaller towns will continue to have festivals or fairs.
People will still go to stores with dozens of people milling around.
They will continue to take buses (private and public), trains and taxis.
Go to beaches and bars.
And illegals, who have never been tested for anything, let alone deadly viruses or communicable diseases will continue to go everywhere unfettered without a care in the world.
