Re: 12 - And again, someone provides no context. As of WHAT DATE are those death rates?
Amazing...
Dead is dead, whether it was last week or yesterday. They ain’t rising from the dead.
Absolutely, this is flu. Gotcha.
With the average age of the population in Italy being 45.5 , it has almost the oldest average age among all nations.
Meanwhile, staying inside rather than getting fresh air and sunshine actually works to weaken the immune system, and fosters sickness when one member of the household is sick.
“seems that anyone over 80 with 1 other health condition gets screwed..”
Incorrect. Anyone over 60 is on their own, battlefield conditions.
Just noticed here where I live the local hospital is setting up tents outdoors.
They expect big trouble. Be forewarned, this is real.
If you believe the Chinese government’s numbers, you’re more gullible than anyone.
Understood. Just thought it was important to call our your post and show you're just posting things for the fear factor.
How is a breakdown of dead by age posting things for fear factor? A poster asked about age groups.
Another large total, from Italy.
Another large total, from France.

Hot summers and cold winters kill thousands, too. On a regular basis in Europe.
They expect big trouble. Be forewarned, this is real.
Yep. National Enquirer is projecting 7 million dead. Many of us will be dead by the end of the month.
It’s meaningful to know as of what date those numbers are from. They may be worse or better as of today.
the fatality rate is nowhere near as high as some alarmist make it out to be, higher than flu but not like some are reporting. That is why no one, zero, repeat 0 under the age of 10 has died anywhere in the world but that doesn’t get attention.
The country that has done the most testing that can be relied upon is S Korea , they have tested well over 250,000 and have 7,869 cases and 66 deaths for a fatality rate of .008 or less than 1%. That is more than the flu but nothing like what some are reporting here and in the news.
As a matter of fact if you add up the top 15 countries with reported cases excluding China, Italy and Iran ) you get over 20,446 cases and 247 deaths for a fatality rate of .012-about 1%. Probably lower and more in line with S Korea as many cases are even more mild. As more test are done you will see more confirmed cases and death rate dropping as it already has started to do that’s because it is more mild than reported for most people.
So, based on that...what should the government and health care systems be doing?
Its a serious question.
“National Enquirer is projecting 7 million dead. Many of us will be dead by the end of the month.”
No, only in Lodi, NJ. No treatment centers to handle the overflow.
The US doesn’t know how far the ChiCom-Wuhan virus spread is and that’s the great unknown.
In 10 days, we may know more than we like.
.
Thank you.
“The size of Lombardy is 9,200 Square Miles. Thats pretty small. It is almost exactly the size of Vermont.
Do you think its newsworthy if 1,000 people died from ANYTHING in Vermont? In three weeks?
Would that catch your eye?
Just curious”
Not addressed to me. Shame I need to point this out. Lombardy population 10 MILLION, Vermont 625 THOUSAND. I think the PC answer is Lombardy has a serious social distance problem that Vermont doesn’t. As well as average age, Italy 45 years, USA 38 years. I’m not minimizing this virus, but it should be fact based.
Ok. Fair enough.
