Sept/Oct is when they ship. Can’t be shipped outside US and “This product does not ship to the following states: ID, HI, AA, AE, AP, AS, FM, GU, MH, MP, PR, PW, VI.”
I recognize some of those State abbr. Rest must be US territories.
It would involve a store visit.
But see if a grocery store near you has them. I’ve planted grocery store elephant garlic and it ‘went wild’ in one of my raised beds. That variety throws off little nodules that are difficult to find. So next year you get MORE garlic LOL. Volunteer garlic!
Kitchen Garden seeds had some not too long ago.
Burpee.
IIRC Jungs did too but not sure about today.
Parks, RHShumway, adaptive seeds, territorial seeds, etc.
Don’t know where they ship it from though.
You can also start ginger if you want.
Lots of instructions online on how to do that.
It probably comes from china but after a year or two it will be fine IMHO if you change out the dirt between replants.
Ditto turmeric
Check out gardening catalogs.
I don’t know where mine initially came from but after several generations here, I figure they are OK.
I was shopping today at the local Wegmans grocery store.
The store was MOBBED at about 11 AM on a school day.
They were completely out of:
toilet paper
rubbing alcohol
hydrogen peroxide
chicken
They were mostly out of:
paper towels
water
hand soap
pasta
flour
There was one turkey left and a turkey breast.
I grabbed the turkey.
It’s food. People are so conditioned to think that turkey is only for the holidays, they obviously were passing it up.
Not me.
I expect the big blitz will happen this weekend.
I hear that there are still many smaller stores that are fine with supplies of almost everything as they have their loyal customer base and other people don’t think to go there.
I did find plenty of chicken at another store and picked up that, some pork roasts, bacon, sausages, lard, some misc spices that we were low on.
I noticed that most of what’s missing is the prepared food. If you want to make your own or even know how to do it, those supplies are still around.
I will be vacuum sealing and freezing a bunch of the meat and pressure canning the chicken. I have a local farm stand that I can go to for veggies. We can basically avoid almost all human contact for quite a while.
Mr mm has often questioned my quantity buying asking constantly *Do we really need that?*.
Now he’s the one almost panicking about it. Considering he’s always been a *go to church come hell or high water* person, he’s absolutely dead set against going at this point.
I have been vindicated........
