Today’s tricky CG is from The Arkansas Gazette.

The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram.

I had to keep going until I got it. I tumbled onto the author’s name and the rest just fell into my lap. Took me some time, more than five minutes.
It took only a couple of minutes. I thought it would take longer when I first looked at it. The double letter at the end of the first word is a big clue.
Took a little longer, had to check on poor Richard...
I appreciate hints but that totally gave it away.
The $100 cryptogram...
Took some toying with, even though I did correctly ‘guess’ at the ‘double ending’ in word 1.

I got off to a slow start today; just not energetic enough to compete. Guessing the double letters allowed me to take it easy through it.
