A doctor who has been diagnosed with coronavirus has given an insight into the disease's daily symptoms on social media.

Dr. Yale Tung Chen, 35, from Spain, who caught the infection while he was treating patients at Hospital Universitario La Paz in Madrid, has been sharing his experiences battling the illness with the pubic.

The emergency physician has been sharing ultrasound scans of his lungs and listing his daily symptoms in an attempt to give the world a glimpse of how the illness takes over the body.

Taking to Twitter the doctor wrote: 'Day 1 after #COVID diagnosis. Sore throat, headache (strong!), Dry cough but not shortness of breath. No lung US abnormalities. Will keep a #POCUS track of my lungs. #coronavirus ⁦ @TomasVillen @ButterflyNetInc.'

I guess they haven’t heard x-rays are quite useful for lung imaging. A lot faster and more diagnostic. If he is a doctor he isn’t a bright one as most would insist on x-ray. The story is more fear mongering.

I was short up until yesterday. I bailed after lunch. I should have held...

But...I am out now. Watching the world burn.

not almost positive...you can be 100% positive.

ALso, there will be deaths that were caused by this that you dont know about...that is also 100% positive

An accurate death rate cannot be constructed...but is pretty fair to say many people who get it will recover..and many will die...and many will never even know they have it.

If you are in an at risk category you have no idea where you will land on it.

I don’t have to know, not my job. How many coronavirus CTs have you seen again? Why are you so adverse to knowing what it looks like?

My credentials are I know how to read a research article.

You blasted several people a few weeks ago for using the term “ground-glass opacities”, saying doctors don’t use that term. I showed you research otherwise. You criticized someone for using the term SCov19 when it is being used interchangeably with Covid19, and I showed you medical and scientific articles showing that term being used.

You continuously come on these threads acting as if you know more than the thousands of doctors worldwide threading this disease and you have not seen ONE cv patient.

Dont know anything about Spain’s medical services.

Could be he did not have access to a CT Scan or Xray. Although, my Urgent care place has an Xray machine.

Ultrasounds would show scaring I guess, but not sure that they would be as diagnostically accurate.

But again, I just “hooked up all the wires.” I dont know how it works.

LOL..It is killing me losing out on this downturn...but I also know if I go short I could get my face ripped off in the blink of an eye...so doing my risk adverse strategy still

except for my little APT face mask stock.

and a few trades that only last an extremely short time

“Jazz star Rudy Gobert tests positive and fans are suddenly sent home just before tip-off”

Were they going to let the fans play too?

ultrasound will not show scarring only fluid and it is scattered by air hence a lousy way to image lungs. x-ray would be better but lags clinically so daily x-rays are not really that useful either

Chinese Docs in Spain?

Might not be as easy as looking up the scores on your Orthopedic Surgeon.

But yeah, in the US there is a lot of info about doctors online.

What’s your thought on getting the pneumonia vaccine if you haven’t already had it? Will it affect the pneumonia associated with Corona?

61 years old

Does he mention any rales or ronchi (lung sounds consistent with fluid in the lungs, ie pneumonia)?

When your doc uses a stethoscope to listen while you take deep breaths, and does so in various spots, this is where your doc can detect and moderately track the worsening or improvement in lung condition, even when you have a dry cough, as opposed to a productive cough. (Phlegm coming up with a cough).

what i said is ground glass opacities are nonspecific and not diagnostic of anything let alone corona virus or even infection as many other causes of inflammation. exist. If you don’t know that you do t know how to read research articles. I have seen the images. They are no different than images of any other patient with ARDS which is the final common pathway in severe respiratory illness. But if you knew how to read articles you would know that.

He is easy to find. I have no doubt he is doing this for a future research article that will show up on Wiley in the future.

but if someone was really concerned he was a liar and not really a Doctor they could just call the hospital and verify.

The pneumonia vac is a great idea and you should get iif you can. I have had it at slightly less than 60 because I have asthma. It will do nothing for corona virus however.

Diarrhea?

I don’t think this is typical for Wuhan. May be just an anomaly for him.

This virus does seem to present itself with normal flu symptoms.

Tom Hanks probably though he had a cold or normal flu as he went around shedding it everywhere.

Since he is involved with making a movie there might have been more of a call to get tested for the Virus by Production or Insurance.

I was trading VXX Options. I’ve been looking at the Vxx since last year because it was at historical lows.

When this stuff started to move up and down a couple of weeks ago, I was buying puts and calls and selling them when I would get a 25% gain. Then wait the next day for the reversal/bounce...and sell the other way.

Really not big money at all. In fact really small money.

But it was like a well pumping. I did get caught this morning so my “put” option is disintergrating in front of me as if Thanos got me.

I pulled all of the other play money out. If it crashes to nothing, then I am out a few hundred bucks. But I am more than positive right now. And the rest: Gold, DRIPs, mutual funds and my little cache of bitcoin is just getting monkey hammered today.

They will all come back. Some sooner than others.

I have enough to pay the bills for a few months. Life is good for a long while.
