The United Nations' weather and climate agency is out with its annual State of the Climate report, and it says "the tell-tale physical signs of climate change" are everywhere. The report documents unprecedented heat waves, fires and floods over the past year, and warns that there is likely more to come.
In the report, the UN's World Meteorological Organization (WMO) cited the historic fires in Australia and the Amazon, record-shattering heat waves in Europe, and soaring levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. In a statement released with the report, the leader of the United Nations calls climate change "the defining challenge of our time" and said "time is fast running out for us to avert the worst impacts of climate disruption."
The impact on humans is growing, with climate variability and extreme weather "among the key drivers of the recent rise in global hunger," the UN said in a press statement.
The report also highlighted the most consequential climate-change-driven events over the past year.
Climate scientists are in clear consensus that the devastating climate events of 2019 are in part driven by human-caused climate change, and they say such disasters will only get worse until humanity manages to decarbonize our economies and reduce excess greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. This climate challenge is herculean, but one that is necessary to preserve Earth's fragile life systems.

And that is only if you accept “fudged” numbers from government agencies proved to be untrustworthy by their past skulduggery. These claims of unprecedented fires, floods, etc. are all bogus. We are seeing nothing that hasn't happened previously. The rate of sea level rise worldwide has not changed for hundreds of years, but you can always find local examples where dry land is sinking due too tectonic shifts, compacting soils and aquifers that are being depleted (like in Mexico City) and various other factors that have nothing to do with “climate change”.
Unfudged data and analysis indicates the world as a whole may have already entered an expected cyclic cooling phase. The people who are pushing for more government control of everything are well aware of this and are hoping to take credit for natural cyclic trends when we start seeing shorter growing seasons in Northern latitudes.

I am just a gfx artist, not a smart UN boffin. All life in earth is carbon based. If we recognize our economies does that mean we have to eliminate all human workers?

One rhetorical tactic is using the opposition’s own numbers to [in]validate their own assertions. Ergo: use their own real-world measurements, at face value, and apply those to their hysterical assertions of imminent doom. To wit: “by NASA’s own published numbers, 20 years of actual change is no more than what we see in minutes daily, and 5x that (covering 100 years) is still nothing more than noise. At this point, you’re construing absolutely anything as ‘proof of disaster’.”
